As per requested this is just a few pointers:

-depending if you take Smokey’s deal for 7 days, if you don’t you’ll want to look at Expedia for air travel. Chances are it’s around $800 for round trip. Just check it regularly. It does this every year. For months it’s 800$ and then suddenly and for a very limited time, it will drop to $400. I’ll post in here when that happens of course. Expedia also tends to have sweet deals around national holidays.

-Try to fly Air Canada. The comfort and the personal TV for movie selection is well worth it.

-Even though other surrounding hotels might be cheaper, just for the experience you’re better off at the hotel where Evo is happening. Less travel and much easier to go get your stick or whatever. And it makes things easier if you wanna do casuals in your hotel room.

-Watch out because most restaurants will charge an 18% gratuity to your total bill and they will refuse to split the bill. So yes that adds 18% of the total bill on top of shit. + tip. Shit can get expensive fast.

-From the airport, take the shuttle to the hotel. There’s a free one or you can pay $5 and not wait for the free one. Taxi ride will go for $20-30.

-Do not let your shit out of your sight at any time for any reason. Dudes are fucking grimey. Sticks get stolen, adaptors get stolen, shit even systems get stolen, EVERY YEAR. I’ve seen phones, handheld consoles, and bags disappear. Keep your shit under a watchful eye and if you can, identify your stick so if someone snatches it, you can easily spot it (my advice= draw a giant penis with a sharpie marker, nobody wants a penis stick).

-If there’s enough to warrant two rooms for Mtl crew, try to get them adjoined, so less chance of a neighboring room complaining about the noise at 4am when you’re on your 12th money match and your 3rd bottle of vodka.

-Little trick I learned from Geese Pants this year: if you eat shit from the mini bar, don’t pay for it, go to Walgreens and buy it cheap there. It will cost you 50 cents instead of $5 for a goddamn chocolate bar.

-I know you’ll probably end up at a titty bar. Don’t go recklessly spending too much money. 2 years ago I saw a dude spend almost 2 grand. And if you’re going to go, take your money out BEFORE you get there, Some bars add an extra charge of up to 20 dollars for withdrawing money. It’s fucking crazy.

-On the topic of money, most stores/restaurant won’t take your debit card. Have lots of cash and credit card instead.

-If you get offered a money match for your shoes in Marvel…it’s probably a bad idea.

-Be very careful of bitches hitting on you at the bar/in the hotel. Unless you saw them coming in from a bachelorette party (in which case, fucking plow away), chances are she’ll be a pro and expect money.

-Oh yes, and one last thing. Do not lose your passport…my advice is to put it in the safe in the room. Canadian passports can reach almost 50 grand on the black market so yes, that shit will get stolen. And if you don’t have it for the airport on the way back, you’ll most likely spend 3 days in holding by Homeland Security, I know I almost had to myself.

I know of this shit can sound very basic, sorry if it’s patronizing, just my thoughts.

Logistically it is just easier to stay at Caesars
I’m thinking Wed to Tues this time around. Last year it was hell on Monday morning running around to catch a flight at 11am while being hella hung over from the night before (sunday night, everyone is gonna be drinking as it is going to be the last night!)

You forgot me lol. That’s okay, you don’t know me yet since I am still very new to the scene and havn’t been to any GTA events outside of Waterloo. That, or you don’t count Waterloo as the GTA (I know lots of people on this campus that do, especially now that it is part of the GO transit line). I’m still not sure myself where it falls lol

I went there with my Girl last year.
The ticket was $525.
The hotel was $200 for 6 days I was there.

I’m already planning to go and this time bring more Tekken herds because of the new game that was just released.

If you are coming, i’d suggest coming a few days early. You are in Vegas, don’t just go there for games. It’s not right.

Oh sorry, that’s $525 each.
The others was $600 plus.

I booked it on Expedia.ca
Only reserve tickets on Wednesday. Especially wednesday night. The flights seems to be cheaper on mid week. I believe Saturday as well.

Prices would be helpful.

Considering where Caesar’s is and the amount of hotel options available, they’re going to need a pretty good deal for the bulk of players to stay there.
