Can We Just Get This Out There? Rage Quit Hell Does Not Exist

How can anyone get mad about a ragequit? Beat them in the match, you just have more skill at manipulating buttons. Force them to ragequit, and you’ve used your buttons to compel someone across huge distances to go to insipid amounts of effort just to spite you in the only way they can.

Winning’s all well and good, but owning someone’s headspace is beautiful.

you are wack.

some guy ragequit on me just now in a lobby match. I sent him a message saying: “LOL, this isn’t ranked.” He replies back: “I know, My son decided to trip over the wire. and besides you didn’t like being on the ground, fine by me.” So I reply: “Maybe I should get a son too. They sure do come in handy.”

i can’t speak for anyone else because there’s probably plenty of dudes that get pissed and ragequit, i simply press a button to deny the win and wait for the inevitable rage message to follow, it’s like a reverse ragequit…wait you “won” the match AND you’re mad sending me messages? funny how that works.

ps.

WAHH T_T

I don’t think there is either.

I’ll be honest. I’ve quit twice, but it was my getting frustrated by Zero cross-up bullshit. I have a mediocre record, but I typically take my losses. And I usually message “GG” to guys that kick my ass online.

I contemplated whether or not to post this for several reasons, but if there is a rate quit hell, it certainly is not implemented correctly. This is because all online data concerning your record is updated using the data on your console. Here’s my supporting evidence:

I play on PSN and I happen to be a Playstation Plus subscriber. PS+ members have access to cloud saving that I wanted to try out. I copied my data to the cloud and moved it over to my brother’s PS3 and played a bit offline. A few days later, my brother wanted to use my tv to play Alan Wake, so I decided to move to his room again. This time, however, I accidentally copied my data from the cloud to my PS3.

I lost 3 days worth of online match data and when I went online to hopefully get it back, it just used what my console told it, including my win streak that had been broken earlier that day.

Anyway, the bottom line is that if a RQ hell exists, it is certainly poorly implemented.

Where can you get this ‘button’? I want one now. I think MvC3 should come with this accessory so that everyone can disconnect. We would all have 0% wins at Beginner status

it’s on most cable modems, not sure about DSL, and i’m pretty sure it’s not on those generic modems the cable companies provide, they pause the connection, rather than breaking it completely like pulling your ethernet cord does

fighting games should make it the way madden does it, the person that losses connection gets the loss, no penalty necessary just a flat out loss and whatever negative points that comes with and the other person gets the win. I’ve yet to see this in a fighting game so I don’t know if it’s a difficult thing to do but I don’t see a reason it would be.

This will never happen ever. Main reason being that is not in Capcom’s power to do so, its Microsoft/Sony’s. Especially with the 360 and how you PAY for the online service. Unfortunately there is nowhere in the ToS of either company where it says “Users must complete games started or risk being temporarily banned from online gameplay for the day”. Doing this essentially forces all people to play and finish games, which is ludicrous, because its a GAME. As much as I would love to see RQers banned immediately from playing online ever, it won’t ever happen.

lol you say you are “just playing for fun” yet you feel the need to ragequit to preserve your record ahahahaha just admit youre a bitch please

You can get banned from Call of Duty games really easily. They don’t need MS/Sony to do it.

UMAD? why wouldn’t i DC if i have the ability to? i could care less if it affects you or anyone else on the other side of the screen, you must be one of those real life nerds that takes this game a little too serious

oh the irony. pretty sure the pussy who is running to his router to hit standby every time he’s about to lose a match is the one who’s taking this game a little too seriously.

Reach does something like that. It was a bit extreme at first but I think they found a good middle spot. I never quit games but people do quit on me, it doesn’t really bug me I just think ‘they’d go through all that trouble to avoid an e-loss’ that’s pathetic.

Reach also gives you a giant exp boost just for finishing the match. I was watching a friend play and even when he won the bonus would be like fifty percent of his total points. It sort of takes away the legitimacy of the rankings, but only the ragequitters care about that anyway everyone else justs wants a fucking match.

Not for rage quitting. Hacking is different because that directly violates the TOS for both companies. But griefing, screwing around online, or quitting early cannot be banned.

And no they cannot do it without MS or Sony permission. Reason being if someone gets banned from either console, who do they go to to appeal? Not Activision or Capcom. Sony or MS only. Thats how it works.

nerds calling other nerds nerds?

OH THE IRONY

Someone ragequit against me in ranked (“ew hi” on xbox), and I got the win. Maybe he did it too late, but hopefully it counts the disconnecter as a loss in ranked matches. I know it doesn’t count the win on player match and in rooms. By the way phoenix with 5 bars is a great way to test the ragequit system.

Even if Reach’s ranks aren’t “skill based” per se, you have to play an absolute ton to get into the highest ranks. It takes more EXP to get through the final few ranks than it does getting every single other rank in the game to that point.
