But we know the truth. What’s a graphical tally? They can be manipulated.
You’ve all forgotten what it is to be competitors. Just too concerned with numbers and records. They’re cool, but only to an extent. We’ve seen the dark side of stat monkeys.

The ragequitters themselves are really only a side issue here. The real complaint is about Capcom seemingly lying about features being included in MvC3… again.
I ask again; how does anyone know either way? I read the OP again and I don’t really see evidence over the matter.
I’ve said this no less than three times, but it works like this:
If you turn off your console, manually exit to dashboard, or experience a power-outage, you’ll be punished for it. The game will inform you of a ranking penalty when you start it up again.
If you pull your ethernet cord, reset your router, or lose your internet connection in some other manner, there is no penalty.
But the premise of the thread is there is no penalty at all, not that it can be avoided.
It just seems to be a frustration-inspired assertion of something nobody knows is actually true.
It’s not true. Ragequitters keep getting match up with non-ragequitters, this has been verified several times by many people who keep getting matched up with well known ragequitters.
Stop playing devil’s advocate over something very obvious, you’re only making people angry.
If I’m making people angry over *this *shit then perhaps they should rage quit. It’s Capcom not your wife. Nobody purchased MvC3 thinking, “Hot damn I’m gonna love that rage quit hell!” There’s way more important things to be miffed about. What’s going on here?!
PS: I didn’t expect this system to work in any case, because it’s fucking stupid and legitimizes the silly notion that rage quitting ‘ruins’ play experience of a fighting game. If anything it’s hilarious and a slight inconvenience. Capcom may not be lying - it’s far more likely the system doesn’t work. They got better things to lie about.
Wasn’t this supposed to be in Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, also?
Or am I thinking of another game?
But yeah, I remember running into the same ragequitter more than 3 times one night when I was playing on Ranked. Don’t really have anything else to say on the matter, tho.
Edit: Just read Sixforty’s post regarding the TVC stuff, which answers my question. Forget the above. I knew I remembered this from somewhere.
Just ban the dudes from online play after a certain number within a certain amount of time. No metaphorical punishment ragequit hells, no stupid icons saying the player is a quitter. Just temp ban them.
Ragequitters suck. Wouldve been nice if there was a RQ hell. Too bad.
Ragequitting does ruin the experience for some, depending on who you ask.
In a team game with other people, one person leaving the team can be the end for the team.
In a fighting game, people are playing with the idea that the match will end. Out of respect of competitiveness, people shouldn’t be sore losers and leave the match prematurely. Don’t twist my words around, I’m talking about people quitting because they are losing, not like the internet went out, they had to leave, cat knocked the router over and the connection went out for a bit.
I take great joy in making people ragequit though, but if it happens frequently enough or if I’m trying to unlock/attain something through online, it is annoying as fuck.
WTF are you confused about? Everybody else seems to be following, sorry.
Notice how specific I was about the genre. I know rage quitting can be disastrous in team games. Trust me. I wasn’t twisting words around. lol For me, people don’t RQ so often it effects my general experience. It happens about as often as any other online game.
The best thing is for matches to finish, as an honor thing - but people don’t have honor. And you will meet these people online especially. Sorry to say.
Worst is when someone ragequits, and then the cpu hooks you right back up with them the next match. This happens way too much.
Off subject: After 3 patches its still mad hard to select ranked match and have it just go through 1st try.
To Kalyx, sorry, I thought you were defending ragequitting. Edited my post. But ragequitting happens to me all the time, since I put alot of work into improving my game. Im sure if you dealt with it more you’d see its really frustrating.
lol Defending RQ? Man let me tell you…
Although it’s kinda hilarious in fighting games, there’s nothing like RQ in team games. Whether it’s your team or the other team, it spoils the match. I wanna hunt down RQs in ask them what the hell did they expect? To win every game they play? And when you’re losing you take your toys out of the sandbox and go home? It’s LAME.
I *have *left games prematurely, to be absolutely honest, but not as ‘rage quits’. Perhaps the connection was a joke, or I know for a fact the other player is manipulating the game and there’s no actual contest going on.
One time I literally RQ’d on a guy in SSF4. I had ‘one of those nights’ and everything seemed like a losing effort. In the dashboard, my opponent sent me a message asking for me to return because he wanted to learn more about my approach with Cammy. It altered my perception about RQers and although I wasn’t one myself, I adopted the idea of sending encouraging messages when I can.
Otherwise they need to stop and accept legit losses. It’s something I think kids have trouble with online.
There is a ragequitter’s hell. Its called Mortal Kombat 9.
Blazblue used to be really bad about doing this to me (1/3 of incomplete matches where against a single person whose internet was apparently incompatible with mine) but then it got better when I stopped playing Blazblue. :razzy:
IMO there should be a punishment for raging if for no other reason than its tendency to screw up the system (i.e. screws up the connection, freezes post-match, etc.) and I would have no issue with a developer implementing very harsh penalties if for no other reason than to beat it into the thick skulls of those who do ragequit that it’s just a game and that their record doesn’t matter.
So ive pretty much just been quitting since the last post Ive made. Like, a bunch of matches right in a row and the same stupid warning keeps coming up. It keeps saying “That match has ended prematurely. Players who end matches improperly will be penaized.” But it said this the first time i did it, and everytime after. Im like 20 RQs deep in a row and just the warning still. I think I might actually start quitting on the regular to keep my stats up.
Why did they say there’d be rage quit hell if it wasnt true? Why not just say nothing at all? But yeah, there definitely is not.
This This This!
Honestly members of this forum surprise me when it comes to this topic. Who the hell cares? Sure it’s annoying, but this is not something for you to get upset about.
If someone quits a game, it means they don’t feel like playing anymore. How about you just look for someone else to play with? It’s that simple.
I’m not saying RQing is a good thing to do, but I just can’t see why grown ass men are crying about it on the internet.
haha, well played.
if you’re getting that message you’re doing it wrong, you want it to say something along the lines of “lost connection to the other player, returning to the title screen” it requires a connection standby of 10+ seconds and the result is no loss and no penalty, clean slate as if the match never happened, so yeah there is no such thing as RQ hell
