One thing you have to think about is that it probably depends on having a very high disconnect rate.
For example, I’ve played over 1000 legit ranked matches. If I run into some noob who’s playing Taskmaster/Hulk who lags the game to a crawl, I usually quit before the match starts. Sometimes I have to quit a few times in a row. It still wouldn’t make sense to send me to ragequitter hell because I’ve only ragequit for some extremely small percentage of my matches.
It could be possible that ragequitter hell only exists for 8 year olds in the midwest who ragequit their first 20 games online.
There’s some people that are on dial up or are making the game lag on purpose or something, and they still play in it. All I can really say when I see the fight intros loading to a crawl and when it says “Fight”, the other person is getting ready to play like this is a lagless game or something all I can say is “really”. You have no choice but to ragequit from that.
Just get some endless lobbies going (or at least try to). I Can’t find a ranked match AT ALL if I look for my region/ When I do the connection is fine but I usually have to search using “any region”… which results in me fighting someone from Japan, Mexico etc. Completely besides the point…
I block rage quitters, cause it’s usually followed by hatemail. Haven’t really found anyone more than once.
I always send a simple “lol” message every time someone quits on me. The number of times I’ve heard someone claim their interenet cut out on them is astounding.
If the connection is really that bad before the fight starts, I can see why people would leave. It’s not even close to a real match if people with dialup feel like playing online and ruining it for everybody else.
Too much of a hassle to return to the XBL menu though.
We’ve been over this already. You’re only punished if you turn the power off or quit to dashboard or something. If you pull the ethernet cord, nothing happens.
Everyone who played TvC already knew this system didn’t work right anyway.
I get ragequit on more in player matches than ranked, which I don’t really understand why you would rage quit out of a lobby. Especially annoying since even if you win you get bumped down to the bottom of the lobby.
Why anyone gets riled up at all for XBox RQ’ers is beyond me. Who cares, let them quit it isn’t that big of a deal. I can understand PS3 because from what I recall someone told me when someone RQ’s then you have to wait for a decent time to return to the main screen.
I mean like, the intros come up, it’s laggy, I let it load, the match starts and it’s still laggy and the guy starts fighting like we are seriously about to play in 200 input delay.
I had the game freeze on me, like you see eachothers gamer tag with w/l record and behind it only a black screen, waited 10mins nothing happened rebooted my xbox pmed him if he also freezed, he said he also a freeze, and what happens I get penalized for quitting when mvc3 froze on both of us
