Not disagreeing Yin, but you keep bringing up the GB version for comparision, and furthurmore using that version’s dialouge to support your point - no-one is refering to the dialouge (which hardley matters in a fighter) and much less the GB version.
I’m not saying the new designs are good or better than the old ones (in fact, I’m pretty sure I said that both new and old designs suck - the old ones win only by nostalgia factor), I’m saying the old designs were plenty feminine as well, so that’s not really a working argument to slam the new ones.
It just didn’t come across well in the old 3D since it was the PSX era, and it was just a bunch of shapes with color, but it’s in the art.
Bringing up that GB ending is just something I find to be bizarre and funny. Someone should check out the original japanese and see if that’s what it really says
I guess me and WINBACK just clash in these matters
We had a similar argument about wether SNK sexualizes it’s female characters more than Capcom or something like that…
I just think that before you attack something with some argument, you should take a good look at what you’re defending to make sure the argument doesn’t work just as well against that. Throwing rocks in a glass house and all that crap.
I’m kinda surprised to be honest. Where are the lolis in lingerie? they won’t get nearly as many sales if there are no lolis in lingerie!
You serious brah? people will eat anything as long as it’s anime and shit out by Japan huh?
Haha that’s what I was thinking. If this had been named Tales of something and even if everything else remained exactly the same, this thread would be at 20 pages right now.
I loved Tobal 1 and 2, but in case you guys haven’t heard (and I mean this was news around 10 YEARS ago), most of Dream Factory’s core team - the ones that were actually behind Tobal - have long been pirated by Namco and Sega.
Ever noticed where Tekken’s JF sparks and VF’s Goh’s standing grapple game came from?
I read it in a proper gaming magazine a long time ago (when they were still pretty respectable) that after Tobal 2 was made, Namco and Sega ate up pretty much all of DF. Notice that the current DF hasn’t made a game as good as Tobal in ages?
Heh, my only exposure to this series was the version I had for my R-Zone (this thing for those who don’t remember it). Might look into this, I mean, it’s a fighter on the Wii.
Seriously. If I wasn’t told that it was a Toshinden title I would think it was some Kingdom Hearts inspired vs. game with Tales series design sense. At first glance the meter looks like it’s straight up bitten off of Kingdom Hearts.
I actually liked the original Toshinden. The music still kicks ass and the characters weren’t all that bad. But the series just stopped holding my interest, particularly by the third installment with all the radical changes that made it hard to feel the series as having much of an identity. Once Soul Edge/Blade came out that was the end of it, really.
Hell yeah, sign me up! I love Fighter’s Destiny, however, I’m not sure if Opus will actually make one. However, they did make another game on the PS2 called The Honoo no Kakutou Banchou (The Burning Fighting Boss) which from what I see on gameplay vids plays close to Fighter’s Destiny.
