Can somebody teach me how to play?

WTF?!?!?! Where do you get the idea that you can give people advice. All your doing is throwing them off. "underestimate Sakura because she sucks, Dont use A because it’s weak, blah blah blah who cares. You dont know shit. I dont care if your good or not. If you are then good for you! You want a cookie? If you are good then Your good in a different way than other people are. Dont say I’m a scrub because I know more than you!!! thats BS. I play exactly how I say I play. Dont think that I just post what I know from listening. I post what I know from testing it out first. I dont know shit about frame data either. It’s not that good to know. It’s just what attacks are faster you dont need complex charts for that. The way you make it seem is that the more you know, the worse you are. Thats BS!!! Thats just your excuse, because you dont know shit. You may be a decent player, but Where the fuck do you get off telling people that your better if you dont know shit. Truth is I’m not very technical at all. I play the game using mixups, pressure and combos. The only trick I use is RC. The truth is RC helps me out ALOT so dont tell me that if I know alot then I’m a scrub. I too believe that it’s best to just play the damn game, but a few tricks can help if you use them right. And once again STOP TRYING TO RUIN THIS THREAD WITH ALL YOUR SHIT TALKING!!!

And if you have a problem with people posting advice on the boards then STFU yourself. I havent even posted anything advanced. I just posted some combos, some pressure strings and some mixups. It may be big talk to a scrub like you, but it’s really obvious that not everybody thinks like you.

You have it all wrong. I meant that with sarcasm. I cant win just using RC. I just meant that since LZJ thinks that it’s such useless bullshit, I would use it on him just to show him that knowing a few tricks can acually help a player than mess them up. Thats understandable right?

Roll cancel through it. simple as that. No complicated technical shit. Just do it.

And LZJ cant’ be Josh Wong. Josh Wong isnt full of shit like LZJ is. You all must be mistaken.

Yeah bro I make my way down there once maybe twice a week. Half the time I’m playing I’m drunk off my ass though because I just turned 21. Last time I was there I was playing N-Blanka/Ryu-Chun/Sagat-2. I’m not that good though. I actually had a 12-game streak down there last time I went, but most of the people who usually whoop my ass weren’t there that day.

I have two spike piercings in my left eye-brow and my cartilage in my left ear pierced. That’s probably the easiest way for you to recognize me if we have played. I love it down there. There is always really good competition there and the machine usually always has someone on it. If we haven’t played though we should and if we already have we should play some more.

look everybody, i’m just trying to help kcxj learn how to play the game. but difference between some of you and me is that i know what he needs to know to get better. so believe me when i tell you stop confusing the guy with your “just RC through fireball traps” bullshit. you dont know what youre even saying. youve probably heard ricky ortiz or another one of your gaming idols say it but you should repeat people anyways. kcxj knows everything technical about the game already but he cant get a grasp on it because of the difference in advice hes receiving from everybody. stop posting anything about RC. RC doesnt help anybody who doesnt know how to play. i dont care what it is or not. if its so advanced that i dont know about it then you dont need it. and i’m not trying to ruin any threads. i just want to help in the best way in this thread(telling everybody whos posting nonsense to stop) and in the worst character thread i was voicing my own opinion(which i backed up with logic and reasoning). i’m trying to help kcxj because i want him to know that snakedizzle’s advice should not be taken. it will throw him off course of what he really needs to learn. no offense to you snakedizzle i dont care if you think i suck or viceversa but this is about something else. the best thing kcxj needs isnt what youre posting. not by a long way either. stop ruining this thread by posting here. if you want to help the man dont talk to him. thats all. and kcxj dont listen to a lot of people’s advice in here. it will just get you confused.

kcxj this probably doesn’t mean anything coming from me because I think I suck at this game, but I would also like to get better and maybe someday play at a high level. Like the dude above me said listening to random peoples advice may be more confusion then it’s worth. Everybody plays the game differently. You obviously know your weaknesses, so try and turn them into strengths.

OK, look LZJ. Not whats getting me mad. What pisses me off is that you think that just because I play differenly than you that I’m a scrub. You say that I dont know what I’m saying, but unlike everybody else I post the shit that I use. You say shit like “You just say to RC through shit, but you dont know what your talking about”. I know what I post seeing as it’s what I use. you also said…

Roll cancel isnt’ as technical as you think it is. Kcxj already knows how to do it so I just told him some good situations to use it in. And whats with you bringing up Ricky Ortiz and shit. I know how to RC. ALOT of people do. I use it in my strategy so how can you say it’s just something I hear from good players. Once again, the shit that I post is shit that I use. Most people just post shit like frame data and shit like that. Truth is LZJ, I’m not much different than you. I just use a few elements to the game that help me out so I post it, because it might help others out. I’ll say it again, because you keep bringing it up. I’m know how to play CvS2. I know some tricks, but I know how to use them too. I post from playing not thinking.

I’ve kept it simple. RC though corner traps. Whats so hard about that. It might be hard if you cant, but Kcxj can, therefore it’s good advice. Once again I post combos, strats, pressure strings and mixups. Theres nothing bad about that. To be honest alot of people keep saying that learning from posts is a bad way to get owned. Thats not true at all. I learned so much from SRK. Good advice is what will make you better in the long run. High level CvS is played in an extreamly different way then I wish it was. All you see in high level tournys is RC and shit like that. I’m just trying to learn all the tricks I can for the future. No offence, but if you know alot then the more potential you have in the future. My posts arent nonsense.

Kcxj, all the tricks and tactics you know will help you out when you learn how to use them. You have SOOOOO much going for you as it is. All i’m trying to do is give you some advice to make it useful.

LZJ-Im trying to be as polite as possible, which is VERY hard for me to do after all the shit you’ve said about me in the past. All I’m gonna say is that you may be a good player, but dont say that I suck, because I know a few tricks. Keep in mind that unlike others, I know how to use the tricks that I know. I dont just blindly post shit.

OK guys seriously, let’s stop ruining every damn thread in this section of the forum. IF you gotta argue take it to pm’s.

I agree, if your gonna argue, get it the fuck out of these threads. Anyways, kang why dont you post up a casual or tounry vid so everyone can help you like they did me.

ok snakedizzle i’m gonna direct a post to you one last time. i’m sorry i said everything that i said. never was my intention to get you mad, just to state my own opinion. maybe youre not a scrub maybe you are it doesnt even matter to me anymore. further more we will never even play so we cant even take this conversation anywhere so goodluck to you and everything you do.

and to the people telling me to shut the fuck up because i’m ruining threads, you shut the fuck up. how is your post helping kcxj get better?

kcxj why dont you practice with nestor if you wanna get better? you should play somebody good. watch more quality videos also. not the ones in the thread asking how to get better. you should really stop by philly sometime. nothing helps you get better like fighting people who only know the basics.

It’s one thing post your opinion, which is fine, but it’s another thing to believe that everyone elses opinion is wrong.

damn kang i always new u was a scrub lol  Let me show u the way

My last post wasnt about arguing. Keep in mind that there was also some advice on there too. I said that kcxj has alot to work with and that he should learn to use what he has.

LZJ, that was really nice of you. Good luck to you too. Maybe we will meet. I’ll be at Evo next year. Who else is going. I know it’s a while from now, but if anyone has plans to go then tell me so we can maybe meet up there.

Sorry. this is sorta off topic, but does anyone know what happened to Daigo in CvS this year. I know he played 3s there, because I saw a video of that sickass play he made against Justin Wong. I noticed that he isnt in the top rankings. The way I see it is that he either didnt’ enter(which I dont see why he wouldnt) or he didnt do very well, pft…yeah right. I know this is off topic, but I just had a question.

And to prove that I’m still posting advice on this thread instead of ruining it.

I think that you shouldnt listen to frame data because it’s useless. The only frame data that ever helped me out was Cammy’s.

Daigo got eliminated. Lost to someone named Ricky i think and then Eddie Lee.

KCXJ, it looks like you don’t read this forum anymore, but here are a few basics I know to check up on if you ever come by. I’m gonna be giving general advice w/ some references to Ken’s matchups against Yama/Hibiki

Patience is key. Popoblo mentioned this before, but I think it’s so important to keep in mind and people usually forget. The reason you were probably trying the tick throw with Ken against Zangief was since you were trying to rush too much. Take your time, think moves slowly. Your opponent will often come rushing towards you, even w/ Yama and Hibiki.

The second most important thing is experience against characters and the player. Most players have some type of pattern that they fall into. For example, a bad habit of mine is I always c.hp at the max distance w/ Hibiki. After 3 or 4 times, my opponent finds out, and jumps to cross me up w/ Ken. Look for patterns w/ your opponents. See where they like to do snake arms or slashes, and plan your counter attack accordingly. For example, I believe that you can counter hibiki’s s.mp at a certain distance w/ lp dp. Punishing patterns is probably the easiest way you can get in against Yamazaki and Hibiki.

Another important thing is to remember there is a psychological aspect to the game. Keep this in mind as you’re playing. Most people that play are impatient as hell. If you sit there, they’ll often come to you. Also, try to make patterns for them to see, and then counter it. For example, tick throw, tick throw again, then DP as they mash buttons out of frustration.

There’s a poker saying that says, play the player, not the cards. I think that it’s true for cvs 2 as well, because honestly my execution sucks, and the only way I could ever keep up w/ better players is with mind games. Execution is still better to have, but I think incorporating the mentality may raise yourself a level.

Finally, I usually don’t suggest this but counterattack against Yama/Hibiki if possible. Both don’t have very strong wakeups except for supers so that if you get that knockdown, you can most likely crossup or dash up w/ your c.lk. This is probably the best advise I have to offer and I hope it helps you w/ your game.

Daigo lost to Eddie Lee and Roger, not ricky, aka Ratio1beatdown.

who did kendebu beat to make it to the top4?

lmao @ Obot’s avatar perpetuating the stereotype that black people never smile during pictures.

Masataka:

THANK YOU. The patience tip really helps a lot. You didn’t just tell me to be patient in a single sentence either, but went into detail giving specific examples. That and the new SF: AE edition guide have been giving me a better understanding of the game immensely.

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/244108.asp

A quick quote:

“Although a solid knowledge of the basic offensive and defensive tools will enable you to defeat most beginners, it won’t be enough to take on intermediate and expert players. This final section is dedicated to advanced tactics to help you defeat any opponent and, more importantly, to help you understand why you lost.”

Then it proceeds to talk about Poking, Zoning, Footsies, and Mind Games in that order.

I’d like to know some more CvS2 specifics if anybody else here is good with that. Buk, you there? Josh, satisfied with all your shit talking yet?

kcxj check your pm’s

i’m never satisfied unless i wake up surrounded by money. so bet something.

Okay. Over time I’ve had a a “let’s let the CvS2 strat forum run itself” attitude, but it’s become obvious that we need some policing going on here. This little flame war was pretty amusing at first, but all parties involved need to stop before more threads get permanently sidetracked.

Kcxj, I think you know how to play this game, you either A) had a bad day at the arcade or B) played against character(s) you’re not used to playing against.

I lost in a tourney yesterday to Ken doing d.LK, d.LK xx qcb+LK, throw/shoryuken. qcb+HK from midscreen. I remember using a bunch of my meter afterwards, but Ken always recovered in time to block. I still can’t beat people who throw hadokens at me either. Ratio 1 A-Ken took out my full meter C-Ken and R2 Sagat for free. He did jump in, CC every single time, (I block), he does f+MK overhead and hits me. I let go of the stick after I realized my Sagat has already lost over 90% of his health.

lol… I think you would come here and make a thread like this too if you found yourself losing to tactics like this on a weekly basis.
