Well, we are on Season 4, that’s when things started to slow down comedically for The Office, maybe it’s just a symptom of the genre…
Parks returns tonight. Get excited.
I won’t get to watch it tonight, but I’ll definitely… acquire it.
I’m definitely excited to see what they do with Jonathan Banks.
It’s funny, both Parks and Community are having father reveals. On Parks, it’s Ben’s dad and on Community, it’s Jeff Wingers dad.
ive been away from this show for a while but when i come back i find that Tom and Ann are together? what madness is this?
OMG, Last nights episode. Wow. Fucking AMAZING acting at the end. Loved it!
he’s in every season or…?
roster looks good. I should give this show a chance.
No, he had a short run in Season 2 as Leslie’s (Amy Poehler) boyfriend. then he returned in season 4 for a single episode.
It has the strongest cast of comedians on TV right now. I suggest taking it up, but start with season 1. Also, know S1 is like Office S1, you have to accept that the show needed to find it’s feet. Starting with S2, the show became a powerhouse…
yeah I watched the 1st ep and hated that ‘zoom in people’s face’. and aubrey plaza wasn’t doing much. hope it gets better.
It gets sooooo much better and Aubrey Plaza definitely gets soooo much better. I mean she’s always Aubrey plaza, but you get to love her bored misanthropy. Season 2 things really take off and season 3 is a powerhouse. There isn’t a bad episode in season 3.
Rent-a-swag
Give this show a chance. It truly is the best show on tv right now. I don’t know about anyone else (looks at angryliberial as he seems to be as big a fan as I am) but as the show progresses (it mutates from from a quirky and goofy comedy into a pretty touching and actually pretty thought provoking series), you get attached to these characters. I can’t remember there ever being a show where I liked each and every person (I want to give Ann Perkins a hug). Even the minor characters steal each and every scene they’re in (Orin, Perd, Jean Ralphio).
Oh and treat yo’self.
I wonder if Ann trying to establish her own identity is a subtle nod to Ann existing mostly to provide a regular persons reaction to the zaniness of the other characters, at least from my POV.
Agree 100% on loving the characters. I need more Jean Ralphio soon…
The men have really been killing it this season. The physical comedy with the food poisoning last week was epic. My wife was fucking crying she was laughing so hard.
Ron forcing himself out of the chair and slapping the phone over to Ben was great. Seeing Aubrey Plaza on my computer screen makes me happy every time.
Fuck yes, Aubrey Plaza is a lot of good.
So, Parks is easily the best network comedy on TV. Last night could have been a complete boring disaster and “You’re on with Ron” would have made the whole episode amazing. However, the rest of the episode was fucking amazing too. I actually like that Parks is not afraid to be a little heavy handed in the sweetness, it fits the small town of Pawnee. It doesn’t shove it down your throat like some shows, it just let the characters develop in such a way that you accept how wonderful they are.
I think the presence of Ron and April is the perfect built in contrast to the sweetness you mentioned.
The way April and Andy are, how they are so opposite and yet so perfect really encapsulates the mood behind the show.
