Our satellite system was out for about 10 minutes at the beginning of the show. I think I was able to put together most of what was missing with context clues, but I’ll have to check it out for sure when it’s uploaded to NBC’s site.
If Tom’s leaving, it’s going to suck, but he is pretty much the only permanent character who hasn’t had any major development in a long time.
They have to do several takes of each scene and the actors have to be able to perform reliably.
I’m sure there are insurance reasons involved.
Though, oddly, MythBusters has done a few segments that involve the hosts of the show getting hammered.
So, I’ve now watched the finale about 4 times and I can say without question that Parks is the funniest show of the 2010-2011 television season. It not only fired on all cylinders all season, it finished with strong setups for next season. I literally can not wait for this fall.
Parks had a great season. So many quotables. I haven’t seen a comedy show be on fire like this since season 2 of Arrested Development. Let’s hope this show sticks around a lot longer.
God, I’d have to think about the best moment for me. There are lots of them this season. It’s probably Ron’s giddy laugh when he finds out Lil’s Sebastian is going to be in the Harvest Fest. There’s something so anti-Ron about it that it feels real…
That was funny, but they need to be careful with that sort of thing. It’s kind of like having the villain KO Superman with one punch. It only works if it’s uncommon.
My favorite part of the season was when they took all the cops out for pizza and Tammi slaps Ron. 4 different cops immediately come in with “What seems to be the problem?” “What’s the problem?” “Is there a problem here?” Then they go into the cop descriptions.
I’d almost forgotten it, but the “jail” monologue from the Sister City episode was brilliant, and probably my top pick for best season 3 moment.
I liked The Office, but I think resolving the “Will they/Won’t they?” stuff between Pam and Jim was the beginning of the end. The original version had the good sense to end the show on that note.
I love the recurring townsfolk…like the old woman who was trying to talk to Ron in his swivel chair…she’s the same one who asked why there was no mayo on the ham sandwich she found in the park…
Yeah, they’ll release the producer’s cuts randomly. The first one is for an episode in the second season. Don’t know how I feel yet about no Tom. I’m guessing it has to do with the fact that he is no longer working as an assistant to Leslie an, as good m0urning said, they didn’t know where to take his character. Even though he didn’t have anything major going on for him, it feels like the overall cast is going to lose for not having his presence.
