The video you guys posted of Ino playing on top-players.com… his opponent spams on RC low tigers anytime he’s at close to mid range. Ino low jumps over with Cammy every single time for a counter hit. Ends up taking out the whole team with Cammy alone practically.
Well, that’s where the “intelligent low tigers” part comes in. Once Cammy is close enough, Sagat’s game becomes 60% s.short and 20% low tiger (the other 20% being more situational things like fiercing whiffs or whatever)when she’s far enough out. The point is, instead of Cammy being able dance around safely like she normally can, Sagat can bait her into making big mistakes like low jumps a lot easier than most characters.
Also, that’s Ino. Ino’s just crazy. It’s like putting some chump’s Sakura against say… Ricky’s Chun Li and saying Chun Li wins that fight.
Hey Buk or anyone for that matter, something is bothering me about characters with multi-hit mashable throws. Sometimes in training I’ll do one and it only hits once whether I mash or not. It seems random but a few days ago it happened like 8 times in a row and then not again for a few minutes…? I know other people have had this happen, so what’s the deal? It doesn’t seem to ever happen in a game though
I think it has something to do with how low on life they are.
Is their life bar fully gone when this happens? I never really messed with it, but I noticed the same thing too.
Yeah nm I guess that’s what it is, I didn’t realize how slow their life regenerates sometimes. Stupid game messing with me
Somebody’s been drinking on a weeknight I see…
A very long time ago I remember you (Buktooth) posting something about a fad in the Japanese CvS2 community involving fake crossups. I’ll assume you meant stuff like Geese’s j.short instead of his j.forward. I was wondering if you could maybe bring back the subject and discuss it a little more. Personally whenever I try to fake crossup I always get thrown on landing.
NO a fake crossup is a jump in that looks like its gonna crossup but doesnt,The most obvios example is ken’s m.k jump in,if you do it at the right range he’ll be directly on top of you(so you think its a crossup and block the other way)and it hits normal, luckily p-groove can get away from that:)
yea, eagle and hibiki’s jumping rh’s are also great fake crossups.
and buk, what would you say the win/loss ratio is between sagat and cammy? 6-4 in favor of sagat maybe?
dope thread
Happen to have any good Ryu tricks? I’ve been thinking about kicking Cammy off my K-groove team in an attempt to bring some diversity into my CvS2 play… lol, top tier not cutting it for me? Something like that.
Much thanks Buk, I don’t know what the cvs2 community would do without ya.
PS: just a friendly reminder… Hibiki guide! =D
The silliness here just never ends does it?
i aint buk but imo, any groove sagat vs P/K cammy: 5.5/4.5
Sounds about right.

Probably old news to a lot of you, but Honda can link after his strong slappy hands for a TON of damage.
RC strong hands, link low fierce, level 1 headbutt super does like 5200 or some insane amount of damage. That’s like Chun Li level 1 damage almost.
For the link to reach, the strong hands has to be started RIGHT next to the opponent. Easiest ways to hit with this are by either doing wake-up RC hands, dash up RC hands or cross up forward into strong hands.
Aside from the combo, just doing strong hands by itself is a good tactic. Moves you forward and does 4 hits for good chip/guard damage… and a sizable +7 frame advantage. Besides the obvious link capabilities the frame advantage gives you, there’s also increased pressuring abilities to be taken advantage of. You can simply do another set of strong/fierce hands for more chip damage, you can dash/walk/run forward into various throw or counter hit setups, etc.
low jump blanka
Hi Buktooth i have an awful time with blanka. I know what does beat low jumps in a groove with an activation…What is a good way for a sagat, bison, or blanka to react to when someone low jumps. When blanka does low jump…strong, fierce, or roundhouse i always try to dp or super on reaction and i get counter hit. Besides the obvious, dp, super what are my options. I jump straight up but when i jump straight up after he low jumps in k i get supered. And if i just sit there my guard crushes. Please help about how to beat good low jumps

Was talking to somebody about this the other day, figured the rest of you should know also.
Bison’s level 1 scissor kick super and one hit short scissor kick are NOT safe.
After blocking Bison’s level 1 scissor kick super, Bison is left at a -3 frame disadvantage. So if your character has a 2 frame move that will reach Bison, it’s possible to punish him. It’s not EASY to punish him, but the opportunity is there.
Notable examples:
Sagat s.jab (into low forward super)
Blanka s.jab (into ball/super)
Shoto s.jab (into low forward)
Chun low jab (into low strong)
Sak s.jab (into s.short DP or link CC)
Iori s.jab (into rekkas)
Likewise for blocking a max range Bison 1 hit short scissor kick… like the kind you get when Bison does low jab x2, s.strong, short scissor kick. Widely thought to be completely safe while destroying the guard bar, it actually leaves Bison at an approximate -5 disadvantage. Any 4 frame move that reaches far enough will hit Bison for free… the problem is, most big characters don’t have a 4 frame move that goes that far. Again, the timing is pretty strict, but the threat still exists.
Notable examples:
Sagat low forward
Blanka low forward
Geese low forward
buck with chunli after the opponets missed upercut i try to do st.strong into super but sometimes it whiffs and they fly off, is this a timing thing?
yes… use low strong and you don’t have to worry about timing, they will just fall onto the strong
Low jump counter
About the low jumps, here are some counters-
Bison-jump in(on reaction) 2xmp-it starts really quick and usually beats anything also can lead into cc
Any-Well blanka and bison are charge characters so take advantage of that and RC any charge move for a perfect counter,If your not playing rc groove i think bison psycho crush is quick enough to hit them early, and even his charge down move is so quick you can escape
sagat-well i know you don’t have good reactions but it easier to throw a early s.FP or even s.Fk is really good
- an early roll,if they attack you have advantage
low jump blanka
with Bison you can s.fp or psycho crusher (rc if you have that option) with sagat, s.fp, try to anticipate the jump and mash on s.fp it will get him as hes leaving the ground, with blanka you can, s.fp, rc ball, up ball, hop back…

Is it humanly possible to super in 3/60ths of a second?
