A question in connection with wake up,
Im trying to hard to get this in my game but there is one situation where i still need help.
If they db and do jab jab i should stay outside its range and do c mk xx h SA?
What if they jab and i do c mk at same time,who will win?Also against balrog sometimes all they do is jab jab,i even had my sa lose to it :s

If they do their sweep,if i am quick enough after block i can do my own combo after it right?

1 or 2 times is fine but after while they will know this,watch out for shoryuken counter to ultra :stuck_out_tongue:

From what I saw, those people are inexperienced against a Cammy. Everything I saw seemed random or patterned ie canon spikes or ultras. In the Sagat video towards the end of the first round you just watched him complete his ultra, when he came down you could of landed a cannon spike. You don’t see anyone really attempt any combos or time any moves. Everything seems random…

lol…& i thought i was a bad cammy player. the reason you messed is b/c you were using/relied the “turtling tactics” much often that the other player baited you on the following round. you have to switch your game up every round…but then again, latency is always popping here & there during online play which is why you probably fell for the low attacks like for instance the sweeps.

I won the match but i’m just looking for critique on my over all game play and strategies i have 2 other videos but the other players weren’t that great.

you were turtling too much too (i understand it’s the norm with many sf4 players). with cammy you should use poking & bait the other player. also work on the cross ups as well. i played against hard honda players than this one that cross ups don’t usually work b/c some of them know how to charge partition that flying butterfly special move. good game

I see a lot of blue alt costumed cammy online… so I shall use… GREEN !!!
I know you guys speaks of cross ups… but cammy’s cross ups aren’t so useful… her j.lk and her c.strike crossovers are hard to pull off unless at corners. Anything else? This battle was online so… I know I screwed up the cr.fp cr.mk rh arrow…

It feels like my Abel is more better than my cammy, but it depends on characters sorta, against blanka… i think my cammy does more better than abel but then again, i have more exp. with cammy

Regarding j.lk cross up… My old opinion of j.lk was exactly as you mentioned, but lately I’ve been FORCING myself to use it more and more often in matches and now I’ve completely changed my attitude towards j.lk. It is VERY useful, the way to land it is on you opponent’s wake up (now you have to condition them NOT to do wake up EX/DP moves first). I realized that having a cross up option is tons better than no having one and it has won me a few close matches. It is NOT Cammy’s primary option but having this extra 2nd / 3rd option is great!

J.LK cross up is not as godly as in ST/HD Remix, it could receive some improvement such as a larger hit box/longer duration.

J.LK works on all characters but not in all situations for most large characters such you can land j.lk cross up either while they are standing or crouched but for shotos and some other characters you can only land it while they are crouched. You just need to remember the 2 groups, then j.lk can work quite effectively as a cross up…

again, Cammy is a rush down type, you still try to run away and you let that Ryu get away way too easy. By walk back and forward, what are you trying to accomplish?
You played way too scare, that ryu is that good. If you mix it up with throw and rush him down. He will make mistakes.

– C.HP beats hurricane kick
– you do Cannon Strike too high, wait until cammy almost land before do Cannon Strike.
– Don’t waste bar on Cannon Strike when you just forward. use it on jump backward or in combo.
– use Spinning Backfist, EX Spiral Arrow, FADC to counter fireball. Cammy has low health, you don’t want to block too much fireball.

When i standup and i hold block i move backwards,that way i can have block ready and not move to end of screen(Which i did in previous video).
Now related to this a question,do you block on reaction and never hold back?
Maybe this is a big mistake of me because i always hold back so i will block.

i don’t block in mid screen again Ryu. there is nothing to block. if he uses hadoken, i just jump up, FADC, or ex SA. If he uses hurricane kicks, i just C.HP or CS. If i want to block, i will just sit there.

If you want to block, do down+back so you don’t walk backwards. From far away, you should just FA+backdash those fireballs for free ultra meter. Just don’t do too many in a row in case you get hit.

cr. hp when they do hurricane is VERY useful, usually when they land back down, scrubby shotos would do SHORYUKEN… but if you’re smarter and either let them whiff or block it… free hp -> spike or ultra… whatever

Once u condition them to stop… if they do stop… then start grabbing… again it’s risk… high level players will either grab or block… they play moar safe if they were hit out of a hurricane kick.

At 2:02, you did a EX Cannon Strike into a point blank Spiral Arrow, which is super unsafe on block, as you can tell because you ate a hefty combo that ended with his Super.

Try to practice hit confirming. For example, whenever I do a Cannon Strike, I will do a crouching fierce punch when I land. If they block, I’ll do nothing. If it hits, I’ll combo into cr. mk xx Spiral Arrow. Try not to give them any free damage.

Remember, ditn, Cannon SPIKE is the uppercut move. Cannon STRIKE is the Dive Kick. I think you mean Cannon STRIKE, correct? Yeah, Cannon Strike into Crouching Forward IS safe, but you are much better off learning EX Cannon Strike, Low Short, Low Jab, Low Short XX Roundhouse Spiral Arrow. It’s much more hit confirmable (so you can stop more easily or keep going more easily whether the opponent gets hit or not) and it also leads into MANY more mix ups if they are blocking. Low Forward’s recovery is fine, but it’s not as good as Low Jab or Low Short. If you detect they are blocking, after Low Jabs, you can easily go in for Throws or more Dive Kicks and such.
