Cammy Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

How do you do regular cannon strike so close to the ground? I know for the ex one you can just do: d,db,b,ub + KK
but that doesn’t work for the regular one.

Its almost the same but you can only do a regular cannon strike jumping forward, so you have to end it in uf+k. i.e. d, db, b, uf +k.

Man, this question comes up a lot. Its the same as the ex one expect instead of ub you press ut (up toward) and kick. Add me on XBL if you wanna run through some stuff with Cammy. Hopefully both being UK based the connection will be a good one!

Its pretty damn hard to do on a pad though. Was able to do it fairly regularly on a 360 pad using the analog stick, fightpad was really tough. Got a stick now though, and it flows much easier, like 9 times out of 10.

Thanks for that, I only just started using Cammy. Just practising some stuff in training mode I would add you but my live died. So you can go ahead and add me if you want I’ll be getting live in another week or so.

I’ve sent a friend request. It’ll be good to play against someone else from the UK. Training online on SFIV is a bit of a pain but I believe I’m correct in thinking that Super’s training mode has online functionality meaning ENDLESS BATTLES!!!

Just sounds like a lot of fun to me

First one to land 5 ultras wins, lol!

It does? :wow:

No promises, but I’m sure I read that somewhere a while back. It would make sense as you can turn the AI on or fight a second player locally while in training mode.

hey, man, i’m from UK too and main cammy. spend alot of time on these forums but dont usually post. i’d like to play and learn from UK Cammy’s, so if you wanna add me please send a request.
i find the QCB F motion almost impossible on my fightpad, so much that i darent use it in matches.

How can I use a meaty Hooligan throw on wake up? Is it only useful after I score a knockdown and my opponent quick stands?

details about various hooligan setups:

Alright. So I’m “ok” with Cammy. My execution is still bad. I can’t FADC ultra. I can’t counter hit fierce into Ultra. ex strike into ultra.

I just have the bad habbit of spamming things - like the Cannon Strikes, and sometimes Spikes. and even Arrows at times. If any of you guys were ever at this stage, how did you improve from this?

Also, when you are rushing people down, do you sometimes not do anything to see if they’re buffering in Shoryuken or whatnots in case your links miss?

Don’t get bogged down over thinking this type of stuff. Just roll with what works for you.

If your style involves a lot of spiral arrowing, eventually you’ll grow a sixth sense for the right times to use it.

If you’re doing something and its getting punished a lot, think why then adjust.

to comment on your first thing, until your execution is up i would not recommend really going all in with cammy. she’s a lot of fun and keep learning her and working on it, but don’t move into using her as a main until your comfortable and CONFIDENT in your execution, confidence is extremely important with cammy imo.

anyways to comment on your last sentence, something would be extremely lacking from your rush-down game if you never stopped to bait dp’s. this article and the first response to it by tarnish explain the mental aspect of it: http://sonichurricane.com/?p=2390#more-2390 EVERYONE has their breaking point though where they don’t give a fuck anymore and they just want you the fuck OFF of them and will start mashing dp etc. to make it happen. even calm collected, good players have their limit and being able to recognize when you have hit someone’s limit is important, it’s the difference from effectively rushing someone down only to get swallowed whole by a few dp’s to the face and getting a L or breaking someone down to that level then punishing their foolishly hotheaded dp’s for the easy W that you earned.

Ok im messing around with Cammy and i cant do hard trial 1. I don’t know the way to get the HK spiral arrow after st.lk > st.lp > cr.lk
Its nt just tht i find it hard with cr.lp > cr.lk > HK spiral arrow.
I’ve been in training mode and done it at different time and distances :s
What does one need 2 do?

You need a tiny delay before the cr.lk->hk sa part. So

st.lk, st.lp, [very tiny pause], cr.lk->hk sa.

I’m having a lot of trouble with the Boxer match up. can someone get in to detail about how to handle him.

Everybody has trouble with that matchup.

But seriously, there are things you can do. And things you shouldn’t. Don’t try to outpoke him, you can’t. Also: be extra cautious when he has Ultra. One headbutt-> Ultra will usually cost you the round.

Things I like to do:
A well spaced SA. It’s safe on block if spaced right. Usually rogs like to start poking after SA. CS for good measure. Usually not a good idea to do this right away. Many Rogs will just sit there and do nothing but block untill they are 200% sure they can hit you. I’ve encoutered Rogs that didn’t even punish a bad CS. …

Throwing is good. Because Rogs are usually holding back a simple forward dash throw isn’t what they expect. They are usually waiting to heabutt or poke or bullrush. Nice thing about throwing is that many of his rushes can also be thrown, including his super.

I also use SBF although I’m sure most people on this board would call me nuts for using that. Many of Rogs ex moves have hyperarmour, SBF snuffs that. You just have to be super carefull. (and don’t SBF when he has Ultra).

Hooligan slide is also suprisingly effective. Many Rogs don’t expect it. And it sometimes snufss there pokes. Just make sure you fake it to find out what he does against it before you use it for real. lp hooligan cancel from full screen away helps.

All in all I can beat a decent Rog. Good ones… not a chance. Maybe the pros can, but I sure as %^&* can’t.

ok im tired of failing at tkcs and sweaty hands from intense matches trying to do tkcs’s on that tiny d pad. For a cammy main should i get a stick or pad or am i just using the 360 d pad wrong and its my fault for messing up the motion?

against balrog just to get you started:

and remember you can throw balrog out of his EX rushes… check through the matchup thread… so many strategies has been written about this particular matchup…
