Hi. I’m having trouble with the c.lk lp lk spiral arrow combo , the spiral arrow comes out either too late or doesnt come out at all.Some times just a plain hk comes out. I play with keyboard btw.

Subtle stuff :wink: The difference is that you need to wait until C LP is finished before doing the C LK, if so, then you linked them not cancelled (or chained) them. When you link after a chain (the first C LK xx C LP is a chain); then yu can do a cancel which is C LK xx arrow.

beware that it is hard to link the C LK after C LP, it’s very strict. Too fast: it’s cancel. Too slow: not a combo.

I just started hitting the lklplk->SA combo in my normal matches now, I’ve found you can do the entire thing in pretty much even timing without a “delay” between the lp and lk, you just need to do it at a sort of slow pace to get it work out right

That means you also insert the delay in the first C LK xx C LP part, making it a C LK, C LP which also works.
It’s a way to keep timing more regular tough :slight_smile: But it adds one extra point of possible failure.

ok, I need help against Balrog.

I have a difficult time with him. his jabs come out so fast so I can’t walkup throw. It also beats my crouch short and whatnots.

He just jump Fierce and at times I do cannon spike, it gets stuffed, while others I do not react fast enough.

I just find that getting caught in, c.lp c.lp c.lk xx headbutt Ultra is just annoying >.>

Like a general strategey (seeing I have none). This would be greatly appreciated… Thanks.

against boxer, well it’s tough. You have to be random with your jumpins and you have to turtle a lot. Learn the timing with grabbing the dash punches and you’ll do okay.

15 cannon spikes in 1 match!!! not counting the ones that were “countered”…

im afraid you wont be winning any matches against balrog that way…

that was a prime example of Flow Chart Cammy… and that kind of play style wont get you anywhere… its a shame… cause that player got good FADC reaction… if only he can incorporate footsie and COMBOS!..

I have a question about Hooligan slide into ultra. Do some characters require different timing then others? Because some I can hit with the full ultra (minus the ending) well others bounce off after 2 hits.

Okay in the recent jwong videos can anyone tell me why he uses c.lk c.lp s.lp as his BnB and no clk clp clk?

Returning stick back to neutral for better execution. Might possibly get them to think it’s okay to block high before getting hit by SA.

I’ve mentioned this before but its pretty easy if you do the quarter circle before the lp. So:

:d: + :lk:
:d: + :lp:
:df:
:r:
:lp:
:hk:

The slight delay you need to put in her bnb combos for the links takes care of itself as you’re doing the quarter circle in that time then just do the lp and hk one after the other.

Interesting, I usually go for the low short, standing jab, standing jab Spiral Arrow.

I would say the reason he puts standing jab at the end is to make it a habit so that against certain characters he wont whiff.
Like against blanka, balrog, and guile (off the top of my head) they’re stances are a bit wierd so your standard BnB will whiff the last c.lp or c.lk on them. So if you can find a universal way of getting your combo to work then you dont have to worry about switching your combo due to a certain cast of characters your fighting. Thats what I think it is, but i could be totally wrong~

OK, so I play my friend’s balrog and he keeps Jumping Fierce punch against me.

By the time I see it, if I do cannon spike, it’ll get stuffed. Sometimes, standing close LP will hit. I did hit it with standing close MP, to knock balrog out of the air.

Its just quite frustrating fighting a Balrog… Jumping Fierce punch, hit -> combo into EX loop or jab jab short headbutt (ultra if have)

So the question is, what other options do I have? or exactly when do I cannon spike?

The best time would be to do the cannon spike as soon as you see him jump towards you. Any time after the apex of his jump you’re in trouble.

If the jump in is deep, go for standing HP or standing MP.
