I haven’t tried this against Balrog yet, but maybe you could try walking forward and hitting Fierce. Close Fierce has GODLIKE anti-air properties, and hits WAY above her head. It’s pretty dumb. It beats a lot of things. As good as Ryu’s Jump Roundhouse is, it can never win. I’ve traded at worse. Just hit it much earlier than you think.
The weakness is that if the opponent empty jumps, it’ll miss. But who empty jumps on Cammy?
The other solution is to abuse shortcuts in the game. Do the DP code like this: :df: :db: :df: + :k:. You’ll stay crouching the whole time so you’ll go from Crouching into DP, giving Balrog MUCH less chance to hit you on the head before you Cannon Spike.
Pretty basic question but it still bugs me to death: Can Cammy cancel st.HP into Super? According to eventhubs’ frame data it is possible but no matter how fast or clean (or both) I do the motion and input, it just won’t come out. I can cancel crouching normals into super all day long but I have problems doing it off a standing normal, so I was wondering if it was me fucking it up or the frama data lying to me.
If you wanna do it the super easy way, do Fireball + Fierce, Fireball + Kick. Otherwise, just be really fast with the Super motion. Close Fierce is very cancelable into Super. Jut make sure you aren’t doing far Fierce, like Draykaden said.
How much are Grabs part of Cammy’s game? I feel like I grab allot with Cammy in SFIV. So much that I wonder if I am just being cheap. Do you guy this too and if so when do you grab?
I don’t think you can throw enough as Cammy No joke I’ve had a friend threaten me in person if I threw him one more time during a match, and someone on my friend’s list rage quit on me and sent me hate mail because of throwing in a player match  Cammy’s game really opens up once the opponent starts trying to tech throws, so I say you throw them over and over until that happens.
Probably to hide a possible tick throw, when you tick throw from crouching it’s kind of obvious and it’s easy to however when standing you hide it better. Anybody got a link to that vid?
How do you fight against dhalsim? He has long pokes, teleports when you’re close. slide -> throw (which… i got caught in like 2 times…). I get burned CStrik’ing over his fireballs because its too slow… (which I should avoid CS’ing). Right… Reliable methods against Jump + HP?
2)For CS fadc back Ultra, its just practice a lot? I only seem to hit ultra due to lag (as a punishment), or Focus Attack ultra. Any help for the motions?
Cammy Challenge Hard 5 is a bunch of bullshit. Does anyone have some tips? I know I need to do the 2nd FADC backwards and as fast as humanly possible. It’s basically linking Special moves together. Ryu, Guile, Sim, Sagat, and Bisons Hard challenges don’t even compare to this garbage.
Well in matches when im trying to do the FADC what i do is a reverse 720 and all 3 kicks. I dont know if it works with the 5th trial cause i’ve been stuck on cammy’s 2nd trial since march.
I just have to keep breaking down the motions. And practicing this thing for an hour at a time is a bad idea. This is definitely a “work on it for 20 mins then walk away” thing. I’ve never played Cammy till last night and I did all the challenges in that same sitting, except for this one.
Stubbornness is not helpful when trying to do these lol. I’m obsessed.
It’s really not too hard of a Combo, and the Double FADC into Ultra is actually a standard in high level Cammy play. For 600 damage on a full Ultra, it’s a VERY useful Combo to get good at.
The one thing I will always say about FADC combos is that people try it too sloppily because they are trying to do 5 things in a row really fast. FADCs can really be broken down into very simple, easy, slow steps if you take the time to combine them and figure out where you can take away the complexity.
So first of all, note that FADC cancels require no timing. I mean it. They require NO timing. You can NEVER hit it too early. I’m serious. Do this: play Abel in Training mode. Do Low Strong into Change of Direction. Now, when you hit the button to activate Change of Direction, just hit Strong and Forward together WAY before Change of Direction even connects. What happens? Focus Cancel. As long as you hit it ANYWHERE in your Special Move before it connects, you’ll get the Cancel.
So knowing that, the pressure is off from trying to do anything skillfull with the cancel. The only thing you gotta remember to do is hold the buttons down. That’s all. So whenever you do a Cannon Spike, just hit the button and immediately hit the Focus Cancel. It should be like one motion. Think of it like DP + :hk:, :mp: + :mk:. It’s all one move. Now you don’t even have to THINK about the cancel. Once you get that muscle memory down, all you’re doing is Uppercutting and then Dashing. Just make sure you hold the buttons down so the Focus Attack doesn’t come OUT before you Dash. Once you see the dash, you can let go.
So at this point, the first part of the combo is easy. Now it’s just Focus and Dashing Back and Ultraing fast enough. That’s the toughest part. And yeah, there’s no secret tricks to this part. It’s all about speed, here. But the best advice I can give is, again, try not to separate moves into two trains of thought. Don’t think of it as Dashing Back and THEN doing the Ultra motion. Instead, do both at the same time. On the second tap for the backdash, merge it with the Ultra motion. So basically, do:
:l::l::db::d::df::r::d::df::r: + :k::k::k:
The whole key to learning these types of things is not to consider everything as separate parts, but to blend pieces together. It makes it a lot easier that way.
see…i say don’t stop doing it until it’s perfect. i spend anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours a day (at minimum) in the training room practicing her combos.
you say you just started playing cammy, so just give it time and it will come to you with practice.
