Cammy Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

Am I tripping out, or does Cammy not have a crossup air normal?

The only one is j.lk and it doesn’t work against about half the cast, the real kicker is the half of the cast I speak of is of course the chars it would be the most use on I forget the exact people it fails on but I do know it fails on Ryu, Ken, and Akuma.

That stinks. At least I can stop trying to do it then.

The only crossup I use is cannon strike, yes its a special but it works once you get used to the spacing. Of course it goes without saying that I very rarely try it when the opponent is standing and able to counter, I wait for knockdown then do it. The fun part is against someone like say Ryu who has the habit of trying to reversal srk it will do one of three things, you nail him, you messed up the spacing and trade, or you both whiff in which case hit cannon spike as soon as you hit dirt if your close enough. Warning though, do not attempt this against gief or Sagat, Sagat especially, his tiger uppercut will beat you clean everytime.

Duly noted. Thank you for the help.

Cammy’s Jump Low Kick Cross ups WILL NOT cross up the following under normal condition:

Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Guile, Dhalsim, Dan, El Fuerte, Rose and Vega.

Everyone else can be crossed up by her jump low kick easily.

However, for those select characters, I have found that they can all be crossed up as they are getting up from a knock down.

I do it on a Ryu player all the time, it goes into the C LK BnB.

I highly doubt that it crosses, tried that in trianing. What I can get to work is hit normally and then land the other side, but that’s not a crossup. The move hits too much forward to be able to really cross.

As I said I use it on Ryu, but I sometimes whiff it too. So does it work only on wakeup? Lets see. I think not, I think the J LK just needs very strict spacing.

And one more question, viewing that vid of faux. If J LK is a real crossup, shouldnt the hit animation for the oppponent be the other way around, since that get hit from the other side? Is this strange animation on every crossup, like eg Gens?

I’d think that if it animates like that it wasnt a crossup because they didnt turn yet, it’s just a straight attacks that lands the other side?

you can get strike to cross there block. The most reliable way I know how is ex strike when they are quick gettin up. You can go to training though and simply find the distance and ex strike and then try to block it. If it shows the strike hitting towards the back of the head/ shoulder area, it should be a crossup. Anything more on top of the head and toward the front is not. Idk about regular strikes crossing, i havent sat down and really tried, but I hope it does lol.

i cross up with the normal cstrike all the time, so it def works. the distance has to be perfect though on their wake up.

Are you sure its actually switching there block? I just want to be clear. Just because you end up on the other side of them, doesnt mean your cannon strike made them block the other way. Like i said i have never went into trainin and tried regular strikes, so i honestly am not sure, But if you can say your 100% positive that your non ex strike is making them switch which side they block then i will believe ya no doubt

ive confirmed it in training mode and there’s a video of it on youtube.

really???

i thought regular Strike crosses up if your opponent is in the corner (on his wakeup)

thats the beauty of Cannon Strike… you dont know if its a crossup or not… or where the hell she’s gonna land … (you can only judge by experience)

I think there is a lot of confusion about what is a crossup and what is not since that video of Faux123 seems to show crossups but there is no visual clue at all to know that that’s actually true. So vids can’t prove anything.

one thing that should be pointed out about the cstrike being used as a cross-up…it doesn’t work on everyone. i’m sure it has to do with the weird hitboxes from person to person.

if i get time this weekend (probably will this sunday), ill do some testing and record my results.

I’m sure I have seen cstrike legitimately cross-up, I can’t do it do it intentionally but I’ve definately had it happen before.

Can you guys tell me what kind of setups you guys use for cross-up cannon strikes? I only know of doing it after ending a combo with roundhouse SA and after back throw.

Yeah i know one way, stand next to downed opponent and neutral jump,
as soon as u jump do ex canon strike and it will cross up

I’m pretty much only using it after knockdowns for SA and forward throw.

Any hooligan throw is the same distance as a back throw, so you can cross up cstrike there
