Vega’s Super is almost as bad as his Ultra. Saving up super meter is generally a bad idea, so you shouldn’t see it too often, unless you’re Zangief.
When you do though, just treat it like every other walldive. Most people that get hit by it just panic because of the super-lightning-flash thing and freeze. Wait for him to get mid-screen and CSpike him, or spiral arrow when he gets close to get out of his grab range. Don’t CSpike too early, because he can grab you out of the air, wait until he’s off the wall and about halfway to you, at that point, even if you miss him with the CSpike, you’ll land safely and probably recover before he does.
I have been air-thrown out of the super as well, but I wouldn’t recommend it, it seems risky, the other options are probably a better idea.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the Vega’s that spam walldives, Cammy can shut down his entire air-game with well timed CSpikes, it beats everything cleanly. Worry about the ones that stay grounded (just kidding lowtier lol).
I just started using Cammy these last days, before her I used Chun-li but in SF IV I can’t seem to win using Chun-li so I tried using Cammy and I have to say she’s much better.
How do you combo into her ultra? I tried doing it as fast as possible from her spinning arrow but ended up chaining it into her super, even though I pressed Kick3x (and it only comes out once in a while). Any videos for a good way to combo her moves?
You can’t cancel special moves into ultra, so you have to link into it. I usually just do j.HK into ultra, since I can’t do the CS>FADC>Ultra very consistently yet.
When I watch a lot of the high-level Cammy players, it seems like whenever they dash, they do a FADC, even when they’re not cancelling out of a move. What’s the reason for this? Is the dash out of a focus attack different than a normal dash?
It just seemed a lot of the times when I would have just dashed, they did that.
But yeah, they probably just happened to be doing a FA just before like you said (while I would have most likely been whiffing a CS or something :wgrin:).
I can’t seem to do the Canon Spike > EX FADC > Ultra/Canon Spike combination. When do you start doing the motions for the Ultra? I can only Canon Spike > EX FADC and that’s it. I always miss the Ultra / Canon Spike. And even if manage to hit the canon Spike then it only barely touches them.
Hmm, I think I understand your question here. When I do the Ultra, I do it as fast as possible. As soon as I’m done moving the stick for the backdash, I’m doing the ultra. Cannon spike, it’s not the same. I tend to dash forward, wait a second, then do the cspike. It sounds like you’re rushing too much.
If you want, I can record my hands doing the cspike fadc cspike fadc ultra etc.
K guys, this one can be a tough question. I have decided to pick up another character. Whether or not that one will be my main, I don’t know. I won’t give up on Cammy though, but I do want to broaden my horizons a little bit in the game. What character should I pick up? The main reason why I want to get another main is for the E. Honda/boxer matchup. I looked a little bit into who beats them, and I don’t want to use Sagat. You guys have any ideas on who I should pick up? I was thinking abel but he’s just as bad against those 2…
I wouldn’t mind seeing a recording of you doing the cs fabdc ultra Seiku, I have a big problem landing that consistantly and I’m sure its because of how I hold the stick.
My secondary character is Gen, just because hes so different to Cammy. Hes fun to play as and a lot of cool combos, but I’m not that good with him so don’t know how well he stacks up against Boxer and Honda. Akuma might be a good pick.
Grip 3 is kind of like what it looks like without the stick. I keep the grip loose, and use my thumb the most. I lent my TE stick to a friend, so all I have is an SE stick.
I think I’ve decided on Chun Li as my secondary. I didn’t really want to pick her since I already have a friend who uses her, but I guess that’s a good plan since I can learn from him.
Right now I alt as Ken, and I like to do both flowchart and non. He’s pretty good when it comes to fighting boxer and Honda though…
