The Dalsim matchup just completely eludes me, i feel like free fodder vs every single one of them.
Trying to get close with hooligan/v-skill is easily punished countered by backteleport, and really good Sims just mix me up to no end, bringing tons of pressure against me.
F.A.N.G, Ken, Laura, and Gief have been giving me problems in ranked today. It’s so frustrating since most of my losses have been people CAPITALIZING on my mistakes as opposed to them just being better than me.
I hate to break it to you, but that does mean they’re better than you. Why aren’t you the one capitalizing on THEIR mistakes? If you’re dropping combos, stop dropping them. If you’re getting punished for reckless Cannon Spikes, then start thinking twice about when/why you’re doing them. Being better than someone doesn’t mean you know some fancy combo or setup, you have to outplay them and have the win to prove it.
Can anyone share some light on the Vega matchup? Yeah I know he’s free when you get the pressure going. How should I play when he’s not eating my wakeup mixups?
Wrong game, wrong character. SF *is *about capitalizing on people’s mistake, Cammy *is *about not making mistakes and being the better player *is *about making better decisions. There are plenty other characters around with safe specials and more HP/stun. Go try them out, man.
Buffered st. HP is pretty good in the match (thank you Cipher for that tip). It handles almost all of Vega’s pokes. Practice your punishes (i.e. rolls, DPing his claw dive stuff, slide, etc).
So once again I want to say thank you for taking the time to respond. All of what you said makes sense but I’ve come to realize 2 things:
I don’t like this game. I desperately want to like it but it’s filled with so much grimy stuff that it should say made by NRS instead of Capcom. For reference, I think sf4 is trash as well and I returned it 36hrs after its initial release back in 2009.
Even if I find a way to to like this game, Cammy is just not the right character for me. Health is too low, shotos are much stronger and easier to use. There’s no point in using Cammy when brain dead jump happy with no consequence Ken exists.
Grimy and rewards idiotic play. It’s just not a satisfying game to play. Enjoy it everyone. My copy is going back. Thanks again for all the info and help.
Bison has little choice but to be defensive. His movement is ass. It’s his weakness. Next time you play Bison, try this: When the match starts, don’t move. If Bison dashes or scissor kicks forward hit him with s.mk or c.mk. His only other option is to walk and mid to low level bisons are not going to do that.
If Bison gets closer, get farther away. You want to make sure that him getting close to you is an excruciating task. At this rate he won’t get v-trigger until 75% of his health is gone, and his mental fortitude will have all but collapsed. He’ll make desperate attempts to get in and all you have to do is let him hang himself and punish accordingly.
Skills reliant on this strategy:
You must learn Bisons dash range, and learn to stay just out of it so you can punish accordingly when he enevitably does it.
Learn what you can punish on block and learn the MAXIMUM punish. Don’t sacrifice damage for a close set up position here. After you hit bison you want to rinse-repeat the game plan above.
Learn how to deal with bisons V-trigger specials and properties. This basically amounts to doing the first two things above, but adjusted for v-trigger.
same for me, feel like really hard to get in especially gud ones, n one ryu that pressure and tricky one, some of ryus which use air tatsu to catch ppl on surprise which i almost had him and lost becoz of this, is it plus on block or it can be jabbed out? i notice that cr block does not work against air tatsu?
I am getting crushed in ranked by anybody 1500 lp and over. It doesn’t even matter who at this point. I really need to work on my block strings, frame traps and defense. This is getting embarrassing.
If you really want some help, you can upload some specific character matches that you’ve played; people can give you pointers and identify areas that need improving. You can also post the replay ID numbers instead, but I’m sure everyone would appreciate a simple YouTube link.
I should have clarified a lil bit by no means am I a sore loser and I am just as gracious in defeat as I am in victory, but not teching throws, not following up on my hit confirms are my fault. The silver rank matches are a different story and those were over before they started and cuz those guys are on another level. The aforementioned issues are oversights on my part and will be corrected. Not to mention I had at least three matches with horrible and I do mean Horrible connection. Did I rage quit nah I accepted my losses. Another interesting lil tidbit is that I invited everybody who beat me to a private lounge and only four of them were accepted.
Wrong game, wrong character. SF *is *about capitalizing on people’s mistake, Cammy *is *about not making mistakes and being the better player *is *about making better decisions. There are plenty other characters around with safe specials and more HP/stun. Go try them out, man.

You make valid points but I’m not going to tuck tail, and pick another character cuz a couple of losses. My Cammy is still a work in progress and I’m learning day by day. I have beaten silver ranked opponents and lost to rookies that is solely on me not the Character.
That’s what I have been doing and have found some success in the battle lounge but there was this one F.A.N.G that I absolutely positively could not hang with.
