I can’t really say what her bad matchups are yet. Most of the times I lose, I just got out played or inexperience and lack of knowledge. Right now she has all the tools to win to me.

For 'Gief some of his slower normals are punishable with MK or HK DPs. At least that seemed to work on that guy I fought.

Awesome man. I always thought scissors was plus. I tried what you said in training mode and sure j cannon drill works. That’s only against lk though right?

Anyone have any tips when playing against a ryu that literally parries every thing you do.

edit: I honestly don’t think canon strike is even viable at all against ryu. really easy to parry.

Bisons Scissors are -4/-3/-2/+1 if I remember correct, you should be able to punish M with cr.lp and if he does H, you can still jab to get the momentum.

If Ryu parries everything you do,make him miss the parry, change your attack angle,change your timing and throw him off a missed parry gurantes you a free CH.

Any tips vs Karin ?

I got no clue when to press a button, her stuff always seem to leave her + on block and her medium pokes ( i think ) seem better.
Chun’s insane range on pokes is giving me a hard time as well.

st. HP will beat her cr. MK and st. MK. Most of Karin’s specials are punishable by cr. MP or worse.

In general, Try to use Cammy’s walkspeed to your advantage. She can slip in and out of people’s max range easily. Make her whiff a normal and punish it. For example, Cammy’s stand mk out ranges Karin’s stand mk by a little so you can use that as a safe counter poke. Karin’s sweep is -14 and has more range than stand mk, so If you walk into that normal and block, you get a free Mk spiral everytime. Once your in, do what Cammy does best and “press buttons” (frame trap)
Cammy is better up close than Karin so look for any opportunity to get there. At mid range try to walk her into the corner whiff punish what you can and safe poke until she is either in the corner, jumps so you can anti-air her or come towards you. the closer she is, the easier the matchup IMO

Still on Karin: Anyone figured out what we can get way with after she cancels a blocked normal into command dash? Is that even plus?

Use crouch jab. If they cancel a normal into dash, you can jab and get counter hit. I usually punish with Crouch jab, stand Strong, crouch forward x Spiral arrow. if they cancel into shoulder, they will get hit before it comes out and if they use a launcher the jab wont come out and you can punish it on block with stand strong, crouch forward x spiral arrow.

99% sure that fastest possible shoulder counter hits even 3 frame normals (they can actually combo into shoulder if they plink it). The mixup is instant shoulder to catch mashing, empty dash for throw gimmicks, delay shoulder to beat throw techs or delayed mash. Karin is like -8 to -10 if they empty dash (depends on the normal she cancels from), so good Karins will go for instant shoulder in most situations and to set up the empty throw. You just have to react to the empty dash; she’s very minus and in a counter hit state so you can just jab into anything. She’s also -2 after a blocked shoulder so don’t let her get away with pressing buttons afterwards.

HP and MP x shoulder is a true block string if you do it as fast as possible and it is -2 on block so you cant punish it on block. Crouch MK x shoulder, if you mash jab you will hit her before she hits you.

Sorry, just to clarify since I’m at work and can’t test this right now, but HP or MP into JF shoulder actually jails as a true blockstring? So it isn’t even possible to mash anything in between and get CH (or yolo DP if you’re a baller)?

Yup lol i’m trying it now. I have the dummy set to do stand strong into shoulder. I block the 1st hit and let go of the stick entirely and i’m still blocking.

Fun Fact: If Necalli goes for a raw spaced Critical Art as a chip out, HK DP is the only thing that will beat it. EX DP will avoid the non VT version (the VT version will grab you out of the DP), but you don’t recover in time to punish. Your own HK Critical Art will avoid it, but he’ll grab you out of the LK and MK version on the way down.

And before you ask, no you cannot jump away. Necalli will grab you out of the air.

So yeah, if goes for a CA chip out, HK Cannon Spike.

How do you deal with Mika? She has so many ways of keeping you out.

I have a lot of trouble with Nash. Seems like everything he does is ultra safe, and I can’t seem to punish.

@Tyrsis against Nash, you can punish the following; f+HP, sweep, ALL sonic scythe’s and ALL tragedy assaults. His moonsaults are safe on block but they can be stuffed out with b+mp if you react in time.

I would definitely be a fan of separate match-up threads. Down the line we will have 40+ pages, and as a new player would you really want to go through that to find 1 relevant post, if it even exists? Also it encourages the eventual quality post for each match-up, or even some of them would be great for players.
