Cammys Framedatas are up… more then less.
First thing I noticed, faster and safer cr.hp.

only the mk Cannon Spike is invinsible
@Cipher I been thinking bout using crHP more now I actually have a reason 2. It’s the best normal in terms of range isnt it?
LK Cannon is a good anti-air for close jumps like that repeated crossup shit, if you do MK there you might whiff.
Just went back to check again and her st.hp on cvs2 was even faster than on SF4 (3 frames) and plus on block! Our SFV “that plays like CVS2” Cammy faster normal is 4f, -2 on block and 0 on hit lol. Only combos into TC and if you confirm it wrong (it’s a fast confirm) you’re -12.
I really don’t think SFV Cammy is meant to be played as CVS2 at all, it’s just that the only way we can play her reliably right now is letting of rushdown and just play footsies and FGs back then were a lot more footsie-based then SF4’s divekick fest.
CVS2 Cammy wasn’t only about her st.hp,what was stupidly good it was +10 ON BLOCK,with 3f startup and one of the highest prioritys in the game.
But this doesn’t negate another fact, her other normals are stupid good too.
Cr.hp,st.mk,cr.mk,far.hk.
It’s allways a little bit poor if people tone it down only to her HP. Yes her HP was insane, but she had so many other great normals.
In SFV we have.
A st.mp that stays out forever, is +2 and allows us to use frametraps and tickthrows.
A cr.mp that is really fast +1 on block, and allows us the same as st.mp,just with less range.
A st.mk that has enough range to counterpoke Chun to death. it’s -2 but on maxrange you can throw them out like crazy without having to care.
A cr.mk. Excellent low, with great range. Perfect footsies tool and I’m sure Cammy is low profile while doing it.
back+mp. What has like no range, but it’s fast, a excellent anti-air and a great frametrap.
A cr.hp with wonderfull range, can be canceled into V-Trigger and then linked into cr.cm. Excellent poke, great for fishing.
Not to mentoi the normal prioirty what makes lights against her frametraps allmost useless.
Or maybe I play her totaly wrong. I made allmost 4k LP during the last Beta.
Already mentioned that the game is following 3S guidelines when it comes to frame data. In other words, heavy attacks will generally be - on block. Still, 3S still had characters who dominated with just buttons even with those rules.
@d3v do you find it hard to AA in this game? I noticed you got jumped on alot. Also on their wake up i noticed you use vskill several times, will that beat reversal timing? I think i saw you get punished for it once with what looksd like a late throw tech?
Me not AAing is just bad habits.
As for V-Skill, I don’t believe it beats reversals.
something that I noticed in beta3, lk cannon spike is ungodly good as an anti-air. I believe it either has upper body invulnerability or complete invulnerability to air attacks. I had never been hit out of the start up vs air attacks only hit after whiffs).

It’s the fastest of her dps, I don’t think it has invulnerability. It just plain comes out fast which is usually good enough.
And goes straight up in a lp DP fashion.
After playing a little bit more ranked on XBL and playing some more Cammys(seriously I had a Cammy day today, had like 12 of them)
I really wonder how people will change their playstyle.
The ones who know the old Cammy, how she was pre-SFIV, will probably don’t have many problems.
But I actually think that people will have problems playing and fighting her.
Now in SFV she is again a footsies based rushdown char, in SFIV however she was a divekick/pressurechar.
People tend to focus more on anti-airing her, rather than playing a groundgame against her.
I wonder how the meta against her will change. I seriously want to know this.
It’s definitely gonna b quite the adjustment and I don’t think some people will make it. I have a feeling quite a few SF4 Cammy players r gonna find a new main.
Even in IV the really good cammys had great footsies (okay fine basically only Xiao Hai…). However, I really like her new playstyle of footsies and button pressure.
Her new one is her old one.
Any idea how she will be on release?
I still have hopes for the Decapre Combo.
Interesting, you can use EX DP after V-Trigger spiral arrow and it does the same damage/stun. I wish you could use EX DP with v-trigger on and save half the bar for a cannon strike mixups.

Cannon Strike really doesn’t feel super ambiguous, and leaves you like +1 at best. It just doesn’t feel like a super strong option on offense in V-Trigger. Probably better just to save the meter for super on your next confirm.
Really? I thought frame advantage was much better. It also keeps the opponent standing so you can land more damage.
Either way keeping half a v-trigger bar would mean the opponent can’t throw fireballs at all for 15-20 sec, you can punish a lot of stuff on block or use it in your bnbs and end with EX DP.
Saving the v-gauge now means you lose ~60 damage from the cannon spike ender. Still, the tradeoff is something to consider imo.
Cannon strike isnt something that I believe can be relied opon unless ur in v trigger and even then if you have reactions and defense it not that big of a deal. There r a few tricky set ups that r worth while on occasion tho
