I was relatively surprised at the amount of people willing to just press buttons on wakeup. There were several matches i won because the opponent woke up with buttons every time and just refused to block
Yeah, I played a âwait and seeâ sort of style I guess you could say only really choosing to rush down after I had trained my opponent. A lot of my gimicky shit would work because of what you mentioned, players just waking up with buttons and eating hooligan > razor, b+strong, and F+RH into buttons or just plain taking throws. I played one match against a Laura in full ST mode, walking her down and applying some old school pressure with buttons and random CS when I felt she was gonna try and jump out of the corner or press a button.
I played CVS2 mode.
I was basicly a wall that walked forward ,punishing every jump-in and every mistake. I played really aggresiv, but more relaid on my buttons for it. CVS2 style.
I mostly used M Hooligan against fireballs, the throwrange is amazing.
4 CC st. hk build full vt (Dummy built 2/3 of what i built)
6 CC cr. hk build full vt
10 V-Skill hits build full vt
9 V-Skill counter hits build full vt
20 V-Skill blocked build full vt
Could not find anything else that built vt gauge other than getting hit.
Just donât do like what I did. The amount of times I got hooligan instead of Spiral Arrow after cr.mp is infuriating. Donât even touch downback if youâre coming from cr.mp.
Numbers seem really high regarding V-Skill. How does others like Nash or Ryu compare?
I thought CVS2 Cammy was a monster due good normals and the mixup on grab/fierce which was fast like sf4 and plus on block. I also think this is the best way to play SFV Cammy right now, but she was introduced as a rushdown character and even has the hp of an offensive character. I believe she was nerfed out of her role.
The way I play really depends on my opponent, generally I try 2 play a defensive/footsie style. However I get more aggressive depending on the situation, like if see a weak point ,for example if my opponent struggles with cross ups I will use them more often. I do play a bit more aggressive than I should at times tho, trying to get out of that habit.
And her divekick was extremly good and in K-Groove she had a run,one of the best hops in the game and dealed extra damage.
For walkup pressure I did either st.mp-> st.mp or st.mp -> throw.
All I used was footsies, meatys, tickthrows and sometimes M Hooligans against fireballs, but I used Backfist more often against fireballs, than her Hooligan.
And she was introduced as Rushdown char, but on the Capcom Panel Cammy was clearly classified as:
Rushdown heavy character. Yet she is footsies based!
Rushdown can either be pressure, tickthrows and meaty/throw mixups. Or SFIV 50/50 divekicks 24/7.
I actually prefere a character that can pressure with normals. Hell you can even punish Hadoken on block with cr.mk most of the time, what else do you want?
Walk and press buttons. Walk and press buttons. Walk and press BUTTONS

Seriously, what weaknesses had Cammy in CVS2?
Her jump was really bad, but she had a excellent divekick.
And her Roll is on Chang level, basicly the worst in the game.
But I seriously canât see something else.
-DP
-Insane Normals
-Stupid good damage
-Her run was extremly fast
-Her Hop was one of the fastest in the game
-Really good throw and pressureoptions
-Touch of Death Combos in C-Groove against low life characters.
I donât know, she feeled like a wrecking train in this game.
The only other âweaknessâ was she had a fairly mediocre A-groove CC (custom combo)
Back on track, does anyone else feel that her sweep was completely underwhelming. It seems to be just ahort enough that it isnt that useful. So far it seems that laura probably has the best sweep in the game at least in terms of range, (and the ability to make it safe with a fireball before it) so unless its got some horrid frame data it seems to be top tier
Itâs bad but you need to whiff punish some moves like st. MKâs with it. The way the hit boxes work is it seems sweeps pretty much universally your only whiff punish for a st. MK. You wonât be able to walk forward into a cr. MK against most of them on reaction for the whiff punish. However, the sweep will catch the extended hurtbox the cr. MK would go under giving you an easy option.
She and Ken have the worst sweeps in the game but they still have a pretty important purpose imo. Footsieâs are super homogenized in this game the more I look at it.
LK starts up in 3 frames, MK starts up in 5, HK in 6. I think someone said they were all fully invincible for a time earlier in the thread, not sure though
