This doesn’t work…? But I get what you’re pointing out: combo into Fireball into FADC into normal into EX Tatsu into Ultra. It’s just EX Tatsu into Ultra again, so the above two are really the same, just with different setups. Plus they both have to be done in the corner.

That doesn’t work unless you hit them from the front and they are in the corner and it highly impractical.
Just pointing out that that one is impossible. You’ve used 5 bars of Meter there.
And many of the examples you listed are variations of themselves. With Ryu, these are really the only true tournament friendly ways to land Ultras:
- Late hitting LP DP linked into Ultra.
- Early hitting DP FADC’ed into Ultra.
- EX Hadouken FADC into Ultra.
- EX Hadouken into Ultra (corner only).
- EX Tatsu into Ulta (corner only).
- Jump MP into Ultra.
Non-Tourney friendly ways:
7) Air Tatsu into Ultra (corner only)
Super into Ultra is a waste, because the Ultra will only hit 3 times. The super eats up 5 of the Ultra’s 8 Juggle Hits. No one would really do it, and if they did, please count your blessings because they are wasting meter. But those are the only real, 6 tournament ways to land Ultras with Ryu. For Cammy:
- DP FADCb into Ultra.
- Tiger Knee EX Cannon Strike into Ultra.
- Counter Hit Crouch Fierce into Ultra.
- Regular TKCS into Ultra.
- Meaty Crouch Fierce into Ultra.
- Hooligan Slide into Ultra.
- Spin Knuckle into Ultra.
Non-Tourney Friendly Ways:
8) Anti-Air Roundhouse Drill trade into Ultra.
Cammy actually has MORE ways to land the Ultra. The difference is this: Ryu’s opportunities come up a LOT more often, and it’s MUCH easier to land his methods, though he has fewer. Everyone gets hit by DPs so Ryu’s DP into FADC is very practical. More practical than Cammy’s, even, because Ryu’s reliance on EX moves is much smaller than Cammy’s, so he has meter more often. EX Hurricane in the corner into Ultra is a HUGE weapon in his arsenal, as it compliments his Throw game tremendously. And late hitting Jab DP into Ultra just happens a lot and can be easy to land if you predict Jumps.
Cammy’s main practical way of landing the Ultra is DP FADCb into UltraEX TKCS and Counter Hit Crouch Fierce are the two next most practical. Then, the other 5 are very situational. Meaty Crouch Fierce works, but hard to find situations to make that work well. Hooligan’s Slide into Ultra IS practical, but only against characters who have no solid way to beat out Hooligan Tech Traps after a DP. Characters who try to Backdash to escape the move can be hit by the Hooligan Slide and comboed into Ultra. Spin Knuckle into Ultra is also situational, but I landed it at Evo… a true prediction through a Fireball into Ultra, so it’s entirely possible to use. And trade Roundhouse Drill as Anti-air is super risky, but it is possible. But not very practical at all.
What I’m trying to get at, here, is that Ryu actually has less WAYS to land the Ultra, but more opportunities to land his fewer ways. Ryu’s Ultra is actually pretty subpar, overall, as it’s NEVER usefull when used “naked” and the damage output it does is pretty bad when used in Combos. Cammy uses her Ultra a LOT “naked.” It punishes certain headbutts from Honda, goes through Fireballs, punishes Low Roundhouses from Ryu, etc. etc. The only reason why Ryu’s feels annoying is that people get hit by it a lot.
But what you need to learn, CammyOwnz, is NOT that the Ultra is annoying and there are too many ways to land it. What you need to recognize are the situations where you are getting hit by something that LEADS into it. Basically, you’re complaining about how bad the steak sauce is when the steak itself was burned to a crisp. No steak sauce can save a burned steak. And Ryu cannot land his Ultra without hitting you with something else first.
Recognize when Ryus have two bars. They start to rely on FADC into Ultra, especially late in rounds and especially when they are desperate. Learn to block or Back Dash and bait their DPs. If they have only one bar full, they are going to try to land EX Hurricane Kick into Ultra when you are in the corner. Recognize that, play patient, and be willing to eat a couple of throws because you might bait the EX Hurricane Kick and make them lose all their chances of landing Ultras. If you are getting hit by the late hitting Jab DP into Ultra, stop Jumping at Ryu. And on and on.
I’m just saying that complaining about Ryu’s myriad of ways to land an Ultra is moot. Cammy’s Ultra is actually easier to land, IMO, in battle.

yeah, also use LK spike when anti-airing and you will get trade dp->ultra MIDSCREEN which is something ryu no longer has. Although it is something you have to be looking for and hard to do on reaction.
All Im saying is OwNz you sound hella salty about just losing to scrub ryu’s online because you have yet learn the proper approach. Stupid is a scary opponent but if approached right is very easy to beat. There are not that many top level ryu’s in the world because he’'s not easy mode. Noob friendly is fine, noobs should be free regardless of the character they play as long as you make them play your game.
Cammy’s ultra is also a hela good reversal against other ultras whereas Ryu can’t really use raw ultra to stuff other ultras. Blanka u1/2 akuma u1 rufus u2 etc…
CammyOwNz, I bet you can’t land half of those ultra setup against any good player. if you hate on the guy winning with Ryu. do something about it instead of complaining on cammy forum. Like win with Cammy at next evo.
