Every way I noted (except jump ins for some reason with me) is very easy to hit confirm, and easy enough to pull off in a match. And like I said, focus and jump-ins are givens.
Man, it’s like Ryu killed your parents and you swore revenge in an orphanage the way to speak about him!
everywhere I have to test it out more itd be a little more useful if the Ex SA went into ultra just for a little more damage I have to do some testing later.
I bet you can list all 8-9 of them for us, can’t you?
Super + ultra is a total waste of meter unless it finishes off the opponent. But how often will that happen the the ultra tacks on less than 50 damage?
It does get annoying but it never gets old for me they all seem to all be different in some way but the one character that just gets stale is chun li the kind that walk backwards and goes into the occasional mix up fireball game or the boxers that spend the while match trying to perfect the jab blah blah headbutt into Lets do this!!. Also you havent lived un til you played dudleys that walk backwards and try to keep it classy all day.

dont tell me a pro like u dont know all these… noob
Balrog seems easier, and even he takes skill to use effectively at a high level. No such thing as “Easy mode” at a high level, you either put in the work or you sink. Easy as that.
i would have thought that a “pro” gamer from the rts scene would have thinker skin than to whine about the fact that the best player in the world (check the results and tell me who else should hold that title other than daigo) plays a character that he has decided was scrub tier.
so… when someone zerg rushes in rts is that easy mode scrub shit too?
oh and your list of ultra setups is kind of misleading as you just started to list different ways to combo to the moves that actually go into ultra. the real list is a bit shorter:
ex hado
ex tatsu
air tatsu
jump mp
lp srk
srk fadc
i’m not going to bother counting the universal ways like focus crumples or late jumping heavy attacks.
compare that to:
tkcs
ex tkcs
ch/meaty cr.fp
meaty SA
spin knuckle
hooligan slide
dp fadcb
and it isn’t like cammy can’t do focus crumple or a late jump in heavy to land ultra.
you need to shed your scrub mentality when it comes to fighting games, at tournament level there is no easy character. period. and if you use a character as common as ryu you best as fuck come prepared with top level spacing, footsies and mind games or you wont make it very far because everyone and their momma all know your character inside and out.
in rts when u get pro u already can master all factions vs any faction on any map and win, i win tournaments playing random side. ppl like this guy which is supposed to be best ever only win with ryu, named by 90% of ppl as easiest noob friendly char, he cant win tournaments playing random
my list is correct ,all those works and they are all different, dont try go around. that links to ultra half are stupidly easy, others arent that hard
cammy… GL hitting some1 with hoologan or spin, ex tkcs is hard to link and if u fail u eat a free combo and i dont think u can with tkcs
i was bringing up rts to say that each has their own scrub mentality. and in fighting games, unlike rts there is no reason to learn all the characters when you can master 1 and learn all the matchups instead.
and i wasn’t saying cammy’s stuff is easier or as easy as ryu’s, i’m just saying that they are there if you want to look on paper. as for the ex and normal tkcs methods into ultra ex gives you a huge window to land it, tkcs is hard i wont lie, it’s a 1 frame link into the ultra so… really really risky. anyways i really do think that your holding yourself back by thinking of characters like ryu in such a manner, it’s probably clouding you up every time you play a good ryu because your immediately categorizing them in your head as a scrub. so yeah rts =/ fighting game, we don’t random select here, we come for your throat in every way possible with every tool possible. that of course will require more and more skill the more familiar your opponent is with your character. ex: if i’m playing against someone with cammy and they are under the false impression that she can’t cross up with cannon strikes they are gonna be pretty damn free when i’m doing strikes to them, now imagine if EVERYONE and their mother all new exactly when my setup was going to cross up and when it wouldn’t, it would become far harder for me to win just on the fact that they know what i want to do.
Normal instant air Cannon Strike to Gyro Drive Smasher is a 2 frame link, it’s not that bad actually. EX instant air Cannon Strike is a 9 frame link to Gyro Drive smasher, ie piss easy.
yes but when would anyone have time to land it other than you think there going to throw so you EXTKCS thats the only time I see it being useful other than landing it after a whiffed dp
IA Cannon Strikes are some of the easiest things to start combos off of, and even your standard aerial EX Cannon Strike links fairly easily into Gyro Drive Smasher if you don’t try to do it from a retarded height. IA Cannon Strikes beat throws, and most low attacks outright. It’s no harder to land an IA Cannon Strike realistically than it is a naked EX Tatsu.
