^not saying he’s hard, but then again I don’t think Cammy is too difficult either. When I think of hard ass characters to play I think of Gen. But what does it matter how easy a character is to learn?
Edit: Geoff, Ryu is easy to pick up, but at a high level the use of Footsies and zoning is a very fine tuned skill that is not easy mode, I have an EXTREMELY hard time against top level ryu’s but against all others have no problems. Footsies is no Big dick if you will.
Cammy is more frightening as a random opponent in my opinion. The only thing scarier to me than random cammy is random adon. Honestly though, cammy takes more execution, but otherwise isn’t too much harder than ryu to effectively pick up.

Bokkin, your analogy is superb. He does have a point though, Ryu is pretty much like the big dick and Cammy is the smaller one you need a bit of extra work to get some loving out of. Not by much though. I think people should respect any Ryu player who can consistently beat whichever other characters.

I tried using him, I suck. I only know how to use Cammy (And Juri on an extremely, EXTREMELY basic level).
To chime in here ryu isn’t easy mode he just doesn’t have any weaknesses. He plays whatever type of game he wants ( very few characters can make me alter his game plan) and adapt to just about any situation.
Plus he can mash threw strings into ultra.

Ryu’s one of the harder characters to place well with. There is no one (or shouldn’t be) who doesn’t know his game. Having a lot of tools doesn’t make you instantly gdlk. Don’t get me wrong, he’s really good still, but you’re doing a great discredit to the amazing Ryu players. He has a decent amount of sublety to his game and relies on spacing just as much as other characters.\
Although he has tools for almost all situations, being able to choose and effectively use the correct one is a hard skill to develop.
I also agree that tournament level Cammy is easier to use than tournament level Ryu. The journey is definitely not as easy for Cammy but once you’re there Cammy gets to be pretty easy to play IMO. She’s got some beastly shit. Plus there is the unfamiliarity factor in a lot of cases. Not excusing it, just pointing it out.
tl;dr - I appreciate awesome Ryu players basically as much as awesome Cammy’s.
I’m just starting to use Ryu. I’m terrible, but I love scrubbing out with him and winning games I know I shouldn’t have.
ryu can link ultra in like 5/6 easy ways. cammy only with spin (LOL) or fadc

What?? No no no x( You got Hooligan Slide, Focus Crumple, jump-in heavies (well, those last two are givens), meaty crouching Hard Punch, meaty Spiral Arrow, and most importantly you have TKCS and EX-TKCS.
I know this is irrelevant but just wanna state how Cammy’s U1 is really good for going naked too, because of the crazy amount of horizontal distance and invulnerability (especially against fireballs).

Negative! You can hit during the last active frames of it (meaty) and it’ll still go through.
meaty would have the same effects as a CH, basically because it hits later and gives the same amount of block stun it will recover faster.

dont forget normal Spiral Arrow too at the tip but its hard atleast for me I can get Super after Lk SA but Ultra is too much for me.
