Since you guys are talking bout wakeup hurtboxes and such here is some interesting (at least imo) info.
Cammy can crossup jump roundhouse the following characters in the corner: ryu, ken, nash, cammy, dhalsim, fang and birdie.
Set the dummy to quickrise/backroll,no guard and have cammy do stmp>sthp>hk sa in the corner. Immediately Jump forward roundhouse and it will hit crossup on these characters. The problem here is that because it doesnt hit meaty,if they are blocking their hurtbox is shrunk,so If you set the dummy to guard all,the jrh will always whiff which makes all of this useless.
What is interesting though is that during their wakeup animation there is a small time window where their hurtbox extends to the point where you can crossup roundhouse them even if they are blocking (tested on ryu/ken only sadly,i will test the rest in a bit as well ofc). Set the dummy to guard all,no recovery and backthrow ryu into the corner, forward dash>walk a couple frames forward>jrh will hit (timing is really strict). Now aside from making all reversal dps whiff which is easy enough in the corner, this hits so ambiguous its not even funny cause from what i can tell this hits front visually but for some reason the game considers it a crossup and ofc with the hitstun from jump roundhouse you get stmp>sthp followup. The downside is ofc that its corner only, you can only set this up after a cc sweep or depend on the other guy not quickrising/backrolling (which you can achieve with hooligan setups) and afaik you cant hit in front with a different jump attack.
So their hitbox really is higher up during wake up? This would explain why I couldnât follow up the lk divekick after HSA.
Could you test this setup against wake up crouching normals or even standing ones to see if it has any effect on the timing it takes for the hitbox to adjust? I wonder if we could abuse this with an instant overhead jmp or jhpâŚ
Well, Cammyâs CA is actually 4f, not 5f how it shows in the guide.
HK CA punishes Necalli, Ken, Laura and Karinâs stHK on block even from max distance with ease.
I guess someone with more pacience could pick up all the possible punishes that a 4f almost fullscreen CA can nail.
Actually Cammys CA can punish moves that are -3 on block, what means the move has 3f startup.
A lot of punishes are possible because of this.
And itâs fun to whiffpunish Dhalsims Normals from fullscreen with it ^^
If you can punish it depends on the spacing and pushback.
I know it works against giefs st.mk on block, I think there was a Video in the Videothread about it.
Probably isnt a corpse hop, this is from a match not training mode right? Even if it isnt stun meter that empty and Timer at 98 means chun didnt get knocked down, and since chun is right where p2 side starts the round in that stage,id say its probably after chun neutral jump.
^ My thought process exactly. I tried to emulate this after a bMP as AA to no sucess. But now looking at the picture I have another idea.
I tested with chun walking back, but it may have been chun trying to jump? IT was the second round, she had bar, so my assumption is that she messed up the EX SBK input.
After you knock down with TC xx EX Hooligan xx divekick you can cross up with your V-skill(spinning knuckle) for a meaty hit if they quick rise. This works even if they back rise iirc. But, if you take just a slight step backwards, you wonât crossup with the V-skill and will come at them from the front.
V-skill is also +2 on block so its pretty safe if they block correctly. I think reversals autocorrect in this game however so that would be an issue. I have however traded and even stuffed(only once during my session) Kenâs hp srk in training mode, but it has very specific timing.
What do you think? Viable tech? I am a scrub Cammy player
I will try to record a video later tonight or tomorrow. Can anyone recommend some basic and free video editing software so I can just add some text on top of the video?
If your on steam and have a nvidia card shadowplay and movie maker work well, but phone vids posted to youtube are really easy also. Just need something to hold your phone, if not someone else.
