Cammy Combo/Tech Thread: Target Confirmed!

did anybody know that cammy can combo into cr hp from spin knuckle on meatie counter hit

Is that viable when you catch people on back dashes? It’s the only time I could think you’d want to use cr hp over st hp in that situation as the st hp may whiff.

yeah it works against back recovery tested it out on ryu it works.

I meant more when you catch someone back dashing, not on back recovery. For example against Nash you’ll anticipate a fireball and do spin knuckle to go through, but instead he tries to back dash and gets caught half way through. It’s times like that when you will get a CH but the st hp will whiff after as he’s too far away. I was thinking the only time you’d want to do a cr hp after a CH spin knuckle would be in moments like that, but even then I don’t know if it would reach. The hitbox and pushback is weird as fuck in this game with certain moves and characters. If you aren’t in those positions st hp after hitting spin knuckle is better in every regard imo.

Does anyone have a clue how to perform the “unescapable” hooligan throw ? everytime I try it my throw whiffs :frowning:

  1. That setup was always terrible. It’s not actually inescapable and you were basically playing rock paper scissors
  2. It doesn’t work anymore.

OK guys, I’ve done some lab work and got the values for the frame advantage that you have after TC knockdowns and then did some setups to meaty characters without the need to react/guess. But since we’re talking about Cammy the meaties that work against 3f normals will most likely be stHK (thus will only work against standing normals), and the ones that happen after a DP will be corner only. Anyway, see below:

TC HK DP [details=Spoiler]25f on quickrise and 30f on backrise.
Whiff grab crMP (corner and against 4f normals only).[/details]

TC EX DP [details=Spoiler]22f quickrise and 27f on backrise.
Dash stHK (only against standing normals, but works against 3f as well. Corner only)
Whiff bMP crMP (since you’re not point blank on this knockdown you have to go for crMP stHP for the confirm)[/details]

TC MK SA [details=Spoiler]28f on quickrise and 33f on backrise.
Dash crLP crMP works midscreen.
If you’re in the corner you can whiff stHP crMP since it’s easier to time.
crMK stHK (beats standing 3f. Corner only).[/details]

TC EX Hooligan [details=Spoiler]17f, only one kind of wake up.
Dash crLP (works midscreen, beats 3f normals. Against 4f you may as well go for dash crMP or stLK if you want to).[/details]

A little info to decide which options is viable against the cast:

I tried using her specials and it seems like it doesn’t work for her?

You mean to beat it? I think I saw a video of someone doing SA to catch them as they are landing, but it seemed really hard to react too in time.

Dash forward hk dp?

How about you DP them? Or I don’t know do something crazy like dash forward st.hk or something like this.

I didn’t know you were also able to tech. Toolassisted initially posted a list and I’m sure her specials were in it.

Yup that’s a big reason why it’s so good. Imagine using this with lk arrow against ryus backdash shimmy.

You’re not able to tech. You just gain more 1~2f of throw inv since you’re airborne.

And why not just use HK DP if you you think he is going to shimmy?
Jump cancel LK Arrow will kill you anyway if he decides to bait, and if he goes for a meaty you’ll also die, where at least the DP will save you.

Actually, if he tries to bait your DP with the delayed throw tech in your face he will grab your SA.

Not to mention that you have to be frame perfect to get +2 f throw inv. Its terrible and useless.

Dp=crush counter.

I think it does work actually. So this could be a less risky option than dp on wakeup. Not as strong as jump back tech but it’s one more thing.

I don’t necessarily think this should be a go to option for Cammy(others seem to have better use) but I’m primarily interested in it for like, academic reasons
