Cammy Combo/Tech Thread: Target Confirmed!

Marvel execution lol. Going from 4 to 9 feels much like doing magnetos ROM.

@BMsirhc1313 Why don’t you show the inputs while doing it? I know you wrote 2149+K but that isn’t showing us timing in the video. I recall Ricki mentioning how she does instant air lightning legs and she adds an extra movement to make the timing right for the kick button. If you are doing something like that it would be helpful to see. Thanks.

P.S. I’m pretty consistent with doing them the regular way, but I do tend to drop it in high stress situations. I still can’t get it doing it the TK way unless it’s EX.

What Ricki does is standard execution for the IALL, since you can’t TK them 'cause of height restriction. So the input is 236963+MK to kill time for said restriction.

Cammy on the other hand can actually TK her divekick so there’s no such problem.

I planned on making a tutorial for it. I’ll post it in this forum.

bolded part made me lol. maybe it’s cause i played chun in sf4 (god bless her), but a calling a 5f window (Tiger Knee Cannon Strike (TK CS) Study) ā€œstrictā€ sounds like an excuse.

tk regular divekicks are challenging, i’ll give you that, but doing tk ex divekicks is relatively easy. it’s just sheer practice and muscle memory. the ā€œtrickā€ is getting the kick timing. the ā€œsecretā€ is that chances are you’re hitting the kick button(s) too quickly. for the most part, if you’re having trouble with execution in this game, then you’re probably pressing your buttons too early.

Ok so may I shouldn’t have used too strict, but I was trying to make the point that the TK motion is harder than the regular way and is not necessary. I can pretty much always get it the regular way whereas TK is a crap shoot for most people. To me it’s more about the placement and timing of it then the height anyway. Doing it manually seems to give us more time to adjust if needed. TKing basically forces you to enter it at the minimum height correct?

yeah, i definitely agree that it’s all about placement and timing, but my personal experience with playing higher level players is that, if you’re not doing it very close to TK height, you’ll be hit out of it or your enemy will neutral jump in reaction to your jump. it’s a very telegraphed move with almost 0 priority.

when it do it the non TK way (talking about EX, regular divekick works TK or non-TK because of the height restriction), i can definitely get it close to the TK height, if not at the TK height, but there’s some inconsistency with it. on the other hand, the TK motion is very consistent.

tbh i don’t find the TK motion to be challenging at all. this is my first game where i’ve actually had to learn it, but after i got it off just 3 or 4 times (after dozens of failures), a light bulb went in my head and it just clicked in my head. made it pretty easy.

There is no point in doing TK regular dives since I have to wait after the jump to QCB+K otherwise I’ll do too soon anyway.

EX TK Dives, in other hand, can be quite handy when in close range.

Agree, not really difficult motion. Just grind it out on training mode.

How are you all dealing with ppl walking back during pressure?

I don’t believe anyone is actually confirming off of cr.mk and I don’t want to guess. Any ideas?

If they walking back mixup s. short throw and s.short, c.short, s.lp SA. Stand short has very little pushback and if they are delay teching while walking back they’ll get nailed by the crouch short.

Interesting I was just using cr lk to cr lp to hit check people who like to walk back on wake up, but doing it after the st lk might actually be better even if it does trade with 3 frame jab mashers. Can’t some characters like Vega still walk out of grab range after the st lk throw though? I’m only seeing the walk back issue with the faster walk speed characters.

Nah, stLK grab is golden. It also forces them to tech early, not late like they can do with crLP grab.
After they start to tech it they are way more likely to be blown up by a shimmy. No wonder why Xiao Hai uses it as a primary offence tool.

Hurricane uses the st.lk starter a LOT for pressure, it has almost no pushback like it was mentioned above and you can get crazy long blockstrings if the opponent is crouching. Didn’t know that you have to tech earlier than with cr.lp. I never used it much until i saw Xiao Hai and Hurricane do it.

As for people walking back during a blockstring…i’ll sometimes dash up after a few attacks and start with cr.lk, not the safest of options though, otherwise i’ll take the cr.mk damage and that’s it.
If i have V-Trigger then cr.mk xx VT, hk dp works, it combo’s from surprisingly far.

I have to work on so many things.
I knew that st.lk is better than cr.lp,but I still go for cr.lp to much.

It’s so annoying, don’t know if someone went trough this too, but I knew so much stuff and could do so much stuff that would probably make me more effective, but I don’t do them.
I had this earlier in USFIV too, where someone tried to explain something to me, I run over and over into the same traps, couldn’t do anything better and after a few days I could do it,without practice this stuff.

It’s so weird, I don’t know if I get better or just move on one and the same place.

You have to force yourself to do the new stuff, even if it means youll lose. This is where casuals come in, especially against friends who know you’re experimenting.

New tech?

Height matters on this one. You have to hit the feet.

Also tested against necallis st.lp and cammys cr.lp

If people can test this that would be great. Obviously backroll will get you out of this. But its safe and lets you do a high low mixup (empty jump cr,lk cr.lp whatever)

I only play casuals after I reached Gold in the beginning of march.
I don’t care about my points, I just think Gold league sounds nice.

The thing is that I use this stuff.
I have a strange way to learn things. I get the information about it, I know how it works, but I don’t do it until I sleep a night over it.
I’m someone who can pactice for hours and the results are visible after some days.
I memorise most stuff during the night.

I think this goes for most people doesn’t it? A game usually doesn’t start clicking for me until I’m dreaming about it. For some reason with SFV I didn’t start having dreams about Cammy until about two weeks in.

this is awesome and works beautifully. thank you!

I read all of Cammy’s CS have invincibility startup frames yet when I tried testing against her in training mode with a guard recovery LK CS, two cr.LK from Ryu (4 startup, +1 on block) wins?
