Cammy Combo/Tech Thread: Target Confirmed!

Found a new way to deal some dirty damage if you’re fortunate enough to land a (85-90% max distance) st.hk crush counter and you’re tried of the ol’ dash > Launcher combo (does less damage anyways):

**CC st.hk > walk forward (slight) > cr.hp xx V-trigger st.hp xx SA > DP (397 DMG / 610 Stun) / DP > CA finisher (507 DMG) **

Max functional distance is just inside of max range cr.mk.

kinda neat combo you can get off of CH on a crouching opponent:

CH st.mp > slight walk forward > st.mp > cr.mk xx HK SA for 236/395
(HK SA hits only once maybe 20% of the time, feel free to use mk SA)

end with HK DP, you get 250/430.

works both midscreen and corner on entire cast EXCEPT for Chun.

Today I “discovered” that the best punish for FANG’s CA is to reversal HK SA under the bubbles to land point blank to him and you still have time to njHP into full punish etc, pretty cool. I don’t think that a better punish is possible, thoughts, anyone?

oh that sounds cool. I should try that.

If people are constantly back teaching against you, when you get HK spiral arrow, you can do f.dash into s.mk. If the s.mk counterhits a crouching button, you can link s.HP against everyone except Laura and Birdie [their character hit boxes are positioned leaning back so their counterhit reeling animation for both standing and crouching moves them too far for s.HP to connect on the first frame]

If they block the s.mk, because you hit on the last active frame, you are at +0 frame advantage. Characters who crouch jab will just barely reach your hurt box so afterward you can do s.lk to make their button whiff for the most part.

You also have the option of walking back [which narrows your hurtbox] and whiff punish their button.

no clue if some of this stuff is old news or not, but Mike L Na tweeted some stuff

Holy mother of god, look at all the dust.
We need someone to clean a little bit up.

Thx for removing the dust Rolento!

So what is this?

I don’t remember this. I’ll add it!

Nice thanks for this gonna test out

Spent some time in training and found a few things. New or old, not sure, but I think it’s worth noting for those who don’t know.

  • Ryu and Ken’s L SRK, also Nash’s EX scythe can be stuffed with a meaty nj.MP. The same meaty setup serves as a safe jump against 4f reversals.

  • Against Mika (this one is strange to me), a meaty nj.MP stuffs out her EX peach even with the armor properties. When using nj.HP instead, the armor takes affect. This one has me lost as to why. Maybe someone can try this out and shed some light on it.

  • And finally, against EX somersault-happy Guiles, I found a fun blender-like setup. After a target combo into H arrow, a late j.LK resets on hit and you have enough time to dash forward (cross under) for the mixup into meaty pressure.

PS: This forum has become pretty dry. MU’s, tech, etc. But, I feel like it speaks volumes on how linear Cammy’s play style is.

Either that or y’all being selfish…

A lot of us are still trying 2 figure stuff out ourselves. Personally I aint got 2 the point were im trying 2 find out tricky set ups yet, im more focusing on improving my fundamentals.

Ps ex scythe isnt invincible so yeah meaties will beat it, most of us kno this already I believe

This. Everyone wants to talk about what Cammy should get in the next update, when they haven’t explored fully what she can do now.

I have some disgusting V-Skill set-ups, but eh. I’ll make a video eventually.

There is enough to talk about.
I’m just very bad in finding things out, thats why I keep these things for others.

And if someone thinks Cammy is linear, pls try Bison, eben Ryu is super linear in this game. Or maybe someone should try versions of Cammy, before SFIV and xT came out.
Just saying.

Not sure if this is old news, but after hk spiral arrow, you can immediately jump forward empty jump, cr.lk, st.lp xx special and it’ll connect on quick risers. Causes reversals to whiff unless they delay them for an autocorrect. Will also hit backrisers but will lose to any reversal they throw out.

Not great tech, but something to throw in sparingly as a changeup if they keep expecting a dash meaty after a spiral arrow.

@Cipher Her play style is. It wasn’t said as a bad thing. And It’s no secret at this point. Yes, Ryu and Bison are linear as well. That’s also no secret.

This forum has probably become too sensitive as well. Maybe I should’ve attached a smiley face emoji after my PS…

@SirLoin027 Thank you for not being selfish… insert smiley face

@East I’m definitely interested…

Armor activates on frame 3. the nj mp has 5 frame start up, nj hp has 7 frame start up. Hp isn’t hitting meaty enough most likely.

V-Skill cross-up tutorial.

East,
What happens if they just mash jab on wake up if you do this? Is it meaty? I know after HK SA I’ve been able to space/time it properly to cross up and whiff a jab on their wake up. It’s not meaty but it leaves a gap where their jab comes out whiffs and then they get hit on the other side. I barely use it though as the timing and spacing is tough to always land as I can’t find a perfect setup for it.

If the opponent wakes up with a 3f normal and you don’t cross up, you trade and can follow up with c.mk xx spiral arrow.

It’s not meaty.

If you dash forward before you do it, any attack they stick out on wake-up attacks in the wrong direction and you will hit from the back.

Excellent. I noticed a lot more people were not mashing jab on wake up tonight. Maybe they are starting to learn it’s better to just block and take the grab against Cammy, maybe.
