Cammy Combo/Tech Thread: Target Confirmed!

nicely done my friend. will try this in the lab.

so does this mean we can do wakeup EX Hooligan to avoid Ryu’s unblockable fireball?

I don’t know if you guys already know this; I once thought I could hit confirm CR MK xx HKSA. Then I saw a Ken video with auto combos which I then forgot about.

So I just spent 5-10 minutes practising buffering Medium and Heavy buttons in to HKSA. What I learnt at the beginning was auto combos. Essentially the hit stop is different on hit and block. So you CAN buffer in to cancels that only happen on hit.

Easiest way to test this out is to go in to training mode all guard and press Cammy HP xx VT. The out come you are looking for is for no VT cancel to happen. Use the big blue block special effect as a guide for timing. Once you are confident try on random guard. VT cancel should only happen on hit.

Normals I tried special move auto cancel with; ST HP, CR MP, CR MK. Normals I tried VT cancel; CR MP,ST HP.

Positives;
1 button auto combos.

Negatives;
hard; (changing the frame it hits changes timing?)
Requires negative edge for optimal use. (Special move will come out on whiff of normal without negative edge)

Overall I don’t think it’s game changing. If the opponent is hit airborne by auto combo they will probably get a free combo.

Edit I can’t recreate it with St HP. I can repeat it with CR MP and CR MK.

can you make a video with slow down to help us use visual cues??

This is probably old tech but has anyone tried anti air B. MP cancel to hooligan for the “inescapable” throw setup? I tried it in training mode and it works pretty consistently but I haven’t tested in match or seen any cammy players use it.

its not inescapable and it isn’t something you should rely on.

Based on what I’ve seen, Nash can jab the dive kick and the throw

I wouldn’t be surprised if others could do the same.

As far as I can tell, there’s no real benefit to using hooligan outside of gimmicks

i think ex hooligan might have legit uses

explain

it’s a way into ex divekick from a blockstring, that’s about it. you get to cancel out of the spin much sooner with ex and of course the ex divekick is also faster than its normal counterpart, to the point that i don’t think it’s possible to really react. don’t know the frames though

I dunno about that, i think its still quite possible to AA on reaction especially if u have a dp.

Ex hooligan is great vs a Fang that does wake up super.

Which strength hooligan and which kick button are you using for the divekick?

Is it light hooligan and medium kick?

fthrow in the corner, then st.hk or cr.hp hits meaty… u just need 9 frames

oh yeah, the projectile invincibility is also pretty notable for ex hooligan. i’m certain that there’s got to be useful ways to apply that
according to vframes it’s got it on frames 1-13 vs ex spiral arrow which has it on frames 5-15. not sure if that’s correct though

tk ex dive is good vs projectiles too. why not just use that?

because at no point during a tk ex dive are you projectile invincible?

I’m pretty sure thats wrong. I’ve used tk ex dive a lot vs fireballs, unless the fireball is simply never touching me?

i’m assuming you were just going over them but i can’t really know for sure right now…never heard that that move has projectile invincibility before or seen anyone use it like that. either way it’s definitely not invincible from the first frame like ex hooligan is since you have to jump in the first place so it wouldn’t cover all the same situations.

Yes, this is the primary situation where it shines right now.

It may also be important to also remember this tool when Urien releases if he has any aegis reflector shenanigans.

EX Cannon Strike has no form of invincibility. You’ve been going over the fireballs.

messing aroud with the ex hooligan projectile invincibility
