I have yet to truly tinker with the team completely, but I was leaning more towards Sentinel anywho. I can get raw tags combos for both Tron and Chris off his H command grab. And Drones would cover a slighter wider area than Rapid Slash.
Been running a Tron team as my secondary team, with Boulder assist, and have Sentinel (Drones) to provide ground coverage and extend combos, as well as Strider (Vajra) for anti airing and mix ups, thoughts?
From my experience on Xbox Live, I find an effective way of using her on point with sentinel (rocket punch) and haggar (lariat) assist. When I first picked her up, I had trouble converting the crouching heavy into the boulder, into the hyper combo, so I use tron in a simple air combo, then dashing immediately after calling rocket punch and her light servebot gun. You then can follow up for an additional short air combo. This will almost always result in your opponent being in the corner. Then after hitting the ground, use the crouching heavy and double lariat assist simultaneously and the Lunch Time hyper will connect almost every time, then for additional damage, a sentinel dhc will K.O. most of the cast. Although, for some unknown reason, this combo WILL NOT work on Frank West. Just a quick combo tip for those struggling with her OTG ^-^
I’m running Tron/Joe/Haggar, so I set up the last part of the combo the same way. Heres some advice, you can actually combo with lariat into King Servebot, giving you extra damage and the ability to use more combo extensions without having to DHC. Might not really work as well for you since you want to level up frank, buts its still good to know about.
Basically:
Tron combo…j.S (hard knockdown), call lariat, cr.H, s.H, King Servebot, s.H, H Drill (mash), Lunch Rush
Thanks for the advice! It really helped, oh and by frank, I mean it won’t work ON Frank for some reason. Its a much more damaging extension actually. It really helps because I usually save Haggar for level 3 X-Factor, and now the of the DHC doesn’t kill I can just go into that, thanks!
I am having trouble making a team, despite playing since Vanilla X_X…
I am interested in trying these out in this order
Trish/Tron/Dormammu <— Vanilla Team Trish feels out the enemy, Tron can Crossover Counter ToD if Trish gets pressured Dorm allows for 1.1mil 1 meter combo with Tron and Trish helps Tron with either a beam assist or trap to take up some space. (Dorm is level 3 do-it-all man)
Ghost Rider/Tron/Dormammu Similar to the last team
Tron/Dr.Strange/Dormammu Tron with beam assist from Strange to cover ground and Dorm for 1 Meter ToD combo with Tron.
I tried Frank, didn’t like him stealing the spotlight. I also really like Morrigan,Shuma, and Viper but haven’t done my homework with them yet.
Glad I could help! So, your team is Tron/Sentinel/Haggar? I would recommend switching your team order up a bit, and having it be Tron/Haggar/Sentinel. This still gives Tron both assists, but it lets Hagger come in with an assist that will allow him to extend his combos and allow for complete combos off of his throws. Plus, I think that Sentinel is a much better anchor than Haggar, as he has better mobility and doesn’t rely on assists to extend combos. Might be worth trying out, maybe in counter pick situations atleast so you won’t have your anchor zoned out.
It all depends on the characters you want to play. My team is Tron/Joe/Haggar, and I literally just picked out 3 characters I really liked and made a team around them, luckily it seems to work out for now haha. Plus it was also my Vanilla team, and I’ve stuck with it. I would go with your Trish/Tron/Dormammu team, but I would switch up the order and put Tron on point. I think this would allow for better DHC with your team, like Lunch Rush/King Servebot–>Round Harvest/Voltage beams, and it allows Tron to have two projectile assists, which can also be used to extend her combos. Also, it opens up some TAC options with Trish you wouldn’t have with Tron in the second slot. Plus, Tron is a great battery character who can build bar for the team, and having Trish second would give you a safe DHC out of bad situations. Sounds like a really solid team to me!
Yeah, I usually run Tron on point right now, I was just considering trying out somebody else to test out how well the Crossover Counter ToD works. Starting with a zoning character and using no meter seems like it could work with that, as long as they get out alive then Tron would have access to both assists. But yeah, Tron/Dorm/Strange would probably be the best, I’d just feel like a jerk lol.
Trish Viper Tron sounded interesting, since I can use round harvest then Viper’s overhead assist + Tron hitting low for unblockables but that’s mostly just because I like Viper the most after Tron probably. (Would be Phoenix but I don’t like not using meter) I’ll try to come up with something by the end of the week, have my weekly tournament to test stuff out at.
Whatever team you choose, put Tron on point. She is always MUCH better with assists to back her up.
Also, 10 points for Gryfandor if you use Shuma. Absolutely love originality.
So my new potential team of Tron/Chris/Sentinel is looking to be more fun. I did find a TOD combo on Thor starting from a full-screen beacon bomb for 3 meters, but debatable on whether it’s practical or not. I do tend to get some beacon bombs like that from time to time though so…
I haven’t really gotten to test in a match yet, but I think Tron’s Gustaff Fire assist might help Chris surprisingly well in a zoning battle. Just gotta get better with the robot…
I’d say she’s got veeeerrrrry limited options when it comes to self-OTG combos. In order to do much of anything, you’d need another good assist to continue the combo after Vajra.
Well, I’m trying to get Tron on one of my teams, and I also want to put Ammy(Cold Star) either as second or on anchor. I’m thinking of putting Deadpool or X-23 in, but I’m not so sure.
Thoughts or suggestions?
