Yeah I’ve been using it for a combo extender and RR can get Tron use like 2 King Servbots with a DHC but costs meter lol Trying to learn meter building combos.
I’m new to these forums LOL so I thought I’d post my team as well.
I’ve got Tron [Gustaff Fire] ::: Frank West [Cart] or Ryu [Hadouken] ::: Morrigan [Shadow Blade] (I found there are more Tron/Frank players than I thought 0_0 but Ryu is my MvC3 team for this)
These are characters I started using since day 1 of both MvC3 and UMvC3. The Tron/Frank synergy is just amazing even if it’s just a bit on the cheap side.There’s no need to conserve the ground bounce with this team because of the resets that Morrigan and Frank allow Tron to do. On the other hand, if it hasn’t been used yet, it gives way for a lot more damage and some really flashy stuff. The Shopping Cart gives Tron a really good opportunity to get in and rush the opponent. I usually wave-dash behind it and go for a command grab, though I do get greedy and airdash-heavy sometimes +_+ Morrigan’s Shadow Blade is a VERY good “get-off-me” assist knowing how easy it is to get Tron in trouble sometimes, and it also helps for air control, which she can’t handle by herself sometimes. Both assists also act as combo extenders, for example, putting the Shadow Blade after an OTG cr. :h:, jump, then :s: to use the ground bounce or attempt to reset the opponent from a previous ground bounce with a command grab or a fake-out low attack. King Servbot isn’t really used much in this team, but when a happy birthday happens, that’s the best thing to do (THC [King Servbot, BIG Shopping Cart, Shadow Servant])
As for meter, this team can burn it all and gain it back in no time flat. The combos I do with this team build within 1.5 - 3 bars. With that said, crossover-counters are very effective, saving any character from death WHILE keeping Tron’s Gustaff Fire purely invinsible on attacks and being able to combo from it (meaning the vanilla assist still lives on!). Morrigan’s got meter-stealing and her “free” super (TAC down after an air-finishing shower in the corner) while LV 5 Frank West builds it by either combo or some really dirty chip damage.
Let me know what you think of my team and for some footage of me: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Fc-fPhUbkIs (starting at 11:50, last fight in the video)
If you wanna try some of my combos out:
cr. :l: -> cr. -> st. :h: -> bckwds DP :h: -> st. :l: -> st. -> st. :h: -> :s: -> air air air :h: air :s: -> SIMULTANEOUSLY cr. :h: + shopping cart assist -> st. :h: just before opponent tech rolls -> :s: -> air :h: air :s: -> SIMULTANEOUSLY cr. :h: + shadow blade assist -> air :s: -> st. :h: -> qcf. :atk: :atk: to Frank LV 5
air :s: -> jump again -> air air :h: air bckwds DP :h: -> :s: at landing -> air air air :h: air :s: -> SIMULTANEOUSLY cr. :h: + shopping cart assist ->
st. :h: just before opponent tech rolls -> :s: -> air :h: air :s: -> SIMULTAMEOUSLY cr. :h: + shadow blade assist -> air :s: -> opponent tech rolls because of previous ground bounce… so grab and reset
(If Morrigan is dead) cr. :l: -> cr. -> st. :h: -> bckwds DP :h: -> st. :l: -> st. -> st. :h: -> :s: -> air air air :h: air :s: ->
SIMULTANEOUSLY cr. :h: + shopping cart assist -> air :h: air :s: -> qcf :l: (beacon bomb L on ground) -> allow Frank some time to prepare for DHC -> st. :h:
-> gcf :atk: :atk: to LV 5 Frank <<can use King Servbots in this combo depending on meter>>
I hope you guys approve LOL
I was thinking of running Tron[Gustaff Fire]/Thor[Mighty Spark]/Deadpool[Katana-Rama!] or switch Deadpool with Ghost Rider[Hellfire]
I’m gonna get in the lab and see what I come up with.
Messing around with Tron/Spencer/Taskmaster now.
Slant assist is great for finishing combos with Tron, and since it leaves the opponent in a standing state, you can get a H Drill > Servebot Surprise > Standing H > H Drill > Lunch Rush.
It also allows for some interesting Command Grab/Level 3 setups due to the hit stun deterioration.
Can any of Tron’s assists be used for Get Off Me?
Eh not anymore. If you mash any of her assists during blockstrings chances are she will get stuffed before it comes out. If you want a good getoff me I suggest Hagger Lariat (Its gimped now but still has some invul) and Gamma Charge (anti air) from Hulk which has armor IIRC.
Gustaff Fire is invincible as a Cross Over Counter however. As a normal assist, its still got pretty good priority as long as the flames have time to come out, that might take awhile however.
Im doing Tron(fire)/Dante(jam session)/Doom i cant decide on if i should do missiles or Beam…any suggestions?
imo beam is the way to go. even though that one is kinda slow, beam’s durability helps clear all the bs on screen. horizontal assists help alot in general and two lockdown assists would be rather redundant.
So I’ve decided to pick Tron back up in Ultimate and need some help with a team. Right now I’m working on 3 different possibilities: Tron/Sent/V. Joe (Or Tron/Joe/Sent), Tron/Sent/Morrigan, and Tron/Frank/Sent. I would have to actually learn Frank West for that last team, but the ability to both level up Frank at will, and to have a defensive/approach assist that isn’t drones helps a lot, cause then I can use drones for the Clakey D combo ender. However, V. Joe’s shocking pink assist is great for defense, as it pretty much stops rushdown completely, and I’d at least like to think Joe has some level 3 xfactor shenanigans with his overheads and overall speed and trickiness. Then again, morrigan is still a great anchor even if playing her would leave me with essentially 1 assist to help Tron. What do you guys think is the best option?
Well I would say Tron/Frank/Sent is probably the best overall team in terms of characters and synergy with two great assists. Frank isnt exactly the most difficult character to learn either.
If you plan on using Tron/V.Joe heres a video with some tech. [media=youtube]iHXyjRXxe1o[/media]. I think it would work pretty well.
Tron/Morrigan is pretty meh, Morrigan’s assists are “okay” for Tron. Soul Fist is good for getting in and you can even get two on screen if you push the opponent back and call Morrigan again before the first one hits.Shadow Blade assist is a crappy anti air, and pretty meh combo extender. And Tron doesnt really need Morrigan’s meter build since she builds enough already. If you land a Lunch Rush you can DHC into Astral Vision and start shooting Soul Drains to steal meter, which is pretty cool. You might be able to get to get more Soul Drains with Drones.
Hey guys, new to forums, I’ll just post my team. My team is Tron (Bandit Boulder)/Viewtiful Joe (Bomb)/Haggar (Lariat). I’ve been running this team since vanilla, but I’ve slowly changed the assists create better synergy between the characters. I like swapping the order too, though I think this is the ideal set up.
That shocking pink tron video is great, and convinced me to change my Joe assist to bomb when I first saw it a few months ago. That video barely touches the surface though, Tron can abuse the bomb in so many other ways, and I think she is a character that strongly benefits from the assist reset glitch.
I’ve been playing around with Tron and now that I kind of have the hang of her I want to incorporate her into a semi reliable primary team. But unfortunately many of the BFFs of Tron (Dante/Franky/Sent/Dr Doom) aren’t up my alley ethier due to not putting the work in yet, or the personal belief of the characters being dry. Looking for something different I look to start fooling around with Tron/X-23-Ankle Slice/Iron Man-Repulsor and Tron/Iron Man-Repulsar/Phoenix-TK Overdrive.
Both teams I think will rely heavily on Repulsar’s neutral game use, and beacon bombs more than j.S. Repulsar also allows the relaunch in Tron combos, but seems to occasionally cross me up (pretty sure its a spacing problem) and causes the combo to go awry due to Marvel’s autocorrect. I think Tron can work well on a Phoenix team despite her heavy meter use BNBs because of her ability to build meter and set up resets. The first team moves Iron Man into the anchor spot as X 23 can abuse Repulsar for silly Dirt Nap set ups.
This is all just theory, I don’t know if it will apply in practice. I’ll be working on it today and tomorrow, I have all the time in the world.
Hi guys, I’m completely new to the Tron forums, but since my sparring buddy constantly lurks in the background of here looking for new tech, and I like trying to make weird combos with his teams, I actually want to pick up Tron now. So, I have two ideas for a Tron team, and I’ve used each of them in about 30 matches so far, so I have first impressions.
Also, OH HAI DAZED!!! didn’t know you were here.
First, Tron/Frank/Wesker. Noel Brown, minus the Wolvy. Tron and Frank are best buddies, Tron setting up lvl5 Frank, shopping cart allowing for strong Neutral game and relaunches whenever they’re needed, as well as pickups from anhy of her throws in any direction, be it air or ground. I like that concept. And Wesker is good for that extension, two hypers if I feel like it, blahblahblah, and he does some nice unblockable action when I want the quick kill with less lengthy combos. Tron dies without giving Frank the gift of cameras, he has less terrible mixup potential with Wesker assist, and one DHC and Wesker/Frank is such a terrifiying duo. I’m forced to TAC there, but who cares, Wesker teleports and gun with shopping cart is good in any role. And for lvl4 Frank combos, the right timing with Frank’s air QCF H and Tron’s boulder ignores the ground bounce, allowing Frank a relaunch, and another with Wesker, before using his bounces, allowing for too much damage. I like it, as you can rush like a madman with Frank’s cart and Tron’s j.H, j.S, or j.L, and still never net less than a Strider’s health on damage. And my Tron combos probly aren’t maximized for damage either, this shit can get crazy.
Second, Tron/Shulk/Taskmaster. You probly already know the idea behind this team, abusing the lack of air teching on the beacon recovery. Save the Shulk assist so that Tron can land her grabby servbots on them with the right timing, then a few hits into ground bounce, servbots again, raw tag to She-Hulk. Dash, anti-air grab, they have to fall into it, and the timing’s quick so I doubt even foot dive can save them (have yet to test, this is all brand new to me). Raw tag agains to Taskmaster, usually gets a free kill while spending 0 meter, off any touch with Tron that does not use her ground bounce early. If she does use her bounce early, she has an otg assist and Task’s assist allows a relaunch with cr. H. Beyond that, she has a horizontal assist and a low assist, a DHC into an invincible air throw, and actually DHCing servbot surprise letting the servbot show up, into Shulk’s air throw, makes shulk safe, the servbot crosses up at times, and allows She-Hulk to get right next to someone, albeit for a hefty price. Not terrible. And, without Tron, this team becomes Combofiend minus Spencer. And even though I can’t play She-Hulk for crap, she loves those arrows, and the arrows DHC. The only problem is that with all the raw tagging in that reset situation, I cannot even hope to play any of those three but Task on anchor. The plan is Taskmaster holds down that assist 2 button on a kill, if I have the time.
So, since I play approximately one character strongly on each team (Frank and Taskmaster, respectively), are either of these teams worth pursuing? All tips, comments, heckling, and suggestions are welcome. Anything I find with these guys, steal if it’s good, ignore if it’s not, I like labbing, but I warn you, I picked up Tron against humans as of yesterday night, and she’s got some combos, and absolutely nothing else.
And, quick note, off certain wall bounces in level 2 XF, Tron can raw tag in and continue the combo. It’s dumb, it’s inefficient, and it’s hilarious.
For the Wesker team, I’d suggest looking into using Jaguar Dash for the assist because a)you can use it for her ender and b)it allows Frank to get two camera shots off. This is mainly a result of me thinking Samurai Edge is the most boring assist in the game and I think Jaguar Dash looks hilarious.
For the other team, you should run it Tron/Task/Shulk. This allows you to go for the reset if you use the ground bounce since you can DHC lunch rush into Task’s counter super and then tag back into Tron to do the beacon bomb. Also, if you have a surplus of meter, you can go for incoming unblockables by doing king servbot into Task’s counter and then calling Shulk assist.
Awesome idea for team 2. Team 1 is damn good, and Jaguar Dash would be fun, but I’d much rather learn She-Hulk than Wesker. Now Tron will always get a kill on touch, if I’m doing it right. This is kind-of out of the blue for me, haven’t ever played Tron or She-Hulk before this, just made up combos for them, but if anything I’m probly enjoying the idea of the Tron/Task/Shulk team more and more. The one problem seems to be if this team falls apart, I will be stuck 2/3 of the time (all the raw tagging, who knows what’s gonna happen there) with a very meh anchor, unless someone can prove me wrong on that.
This is still theory fighter for me, though I have done all the combos I have thought of, and those work fine. Another fun thing, if She Hulk has used up the wall bounce, and goes from a torpedo into a THC (3 bar or 2 bar in the corner, preferably 2-bar midscreen), she gets to do a decent amount of stuff afterwards, and can reach very high damage.
I recently tried out high-tier, now I’m going into Abegen-tier. I like the sound of that.
Also, hey, I remember you on the Nemesis forum, there was an argument about low-tier peeps. How ya doin?
Does anyone know if Tron has any type of Synergy with Felicia?
I was thinking of running Tron/Sent/Felicia but Im not so sure if Tron and Felicia have anything together.
The only thing I can think of that might be useful is that with Rolling Buckler assist, you could go for some unblockable setups. Cat Spike could be useful as a combo extender, but only if you haven’t already used your ground bounce already, and of course, Sand Splash allows for an easy Beacon Bomb.
I mean the most I can think of would be after all those setups, Lunch Rush DHC into Kitty Helper then go full retard with Felicia.
Hello Tron forums. I’ve been paying Tron for about three months now and really enjoy her. However…seems i’m having some trouble coming up with her partners in crime. The only real problem I am having is I am determined to use Trish. She is arguably my best character and feel comfortable running her on anchor. Maybe not her best spot but she doesn’t need assists as much as Tron does. I switch between Peek-a-boo for hitbox absorption or randomly hoping they’ll run into it or Low Voltage (which allows me to combo from her ground throw) Who can we recommend to compliment?
I’m currently going with Vergil but don’t think I will keep him. I’ve done some time with She-Hulk are really like her (plus with Trish fly cancel can setup a somewhat ambiguous unblockable.) But other than that Trish doesn’t really let Hulk get in. Don’t like Frank, don’t really want to use Sentinel or Wesker. I suck with Dante and can do basic combos but thats it.
Look forward to any assistance I can receive. Thanks!
