ken can OS DP on hit, do nothing on block during a block string, but it looks hard
EDIT: okay apparently it’s not that hard after all, doable with practice and reasonable in a match says bananaken. you just have to miss the block cancel window (shorter) but nail the hit cancel window (longer). was this not possible in sf4?
I feel like the practice that it would take to get the timing down on that, you’d be better off just learning to hit confirm 2 jabs. 2 jab hit confirm isn’t that hard.
It could be really dumb tho… imagine if every normal that touches you has an OS’d super/etc behind it? Whiff OS is bad enough, but at least that had counters. What’s the counter to this? V-reversal?
I tried that OS for a long time with Cammy and didn’t get it once.
Doesn’t matter. No point wasting time practicing it cause 100% Capcom is going to remove it
i dunno how they’re going to remove it without completely changing how block and hit stun work in their game
which is a pretty non-trivial change i think, would very much impact the feel of the game and the timing of your block strings

This is true, but if they’re removing the throw OS stuff… ? This is far more dangerous IMO.
Maybe they should just increase blockstun, I know I would probably be happy (without knowing any repercussions lol) because I already think blockstun is too short. I still see people not punishing blocked sweeps because they dont realize the blockstun ends that quickly, for example.
Of course though, that might fuck up all the frame data. I guess the alternative is shortening the cancel window? Shorten hitstop?
hit stop needs to be beefy imo, the game would feel really tinny and shallow if hit stop was made shorter
shorter hitstop also means harder hit confirms, so ken players who are trying to confirm st.MK or b+MP into target combo would have a brutal time of it
MKX had the exact same OS’s. Why didn’t they learn from them?
They were able to get rid of them mostly 6 months later.
I tried that week 1 and couldn’t get it to work. I want to be able to do it cuz off of Ken forward throw, dash forward c.mp is all that connects and you have no time to confirm. so having it auto cancel to MK tatsu would be really nice.
the difference is just a few frames so that is an awfully tight window you are trying to hit

that said, what capcom did to sf4 with ultra is pretty sad
when you play something for 7 years you’re usually ready to move on, but i have to say that capcom sure expedited that process by releasing ultra
