They could easily just make it so that only the first match gives you points, and the rematch option is just for fun.
As long as they do that then i dont see it being an issue.
they could also make it so that you get points for every win, so you bank your game 1 points and rematch if you want, and win/lose more points depending on that outcome
ie, it’s not the 2 out of 3 set that decides the winner and who earns points, but rather each game
it’s still weird though, people are probably only likely to accept games they’re sure they can win and i still think people will quit so you’ll have to hold that L
still don’t know why they don’t just… make every game 2 out of 3 unless the connection is 1 bar or he has 5x more LP than you, but hey what do i know
My guess is because those situations i.e. 1 bar or 5xmore LP than you actually do happen quite often. Currently there’s a HUGE pool of players and the ranked matchmaking is meh at getting you opponents that are both exactly at your range and perfect connection I’ve found.
Forcing 2 of 3s instead of being able to opt in would probably cause more complaining in the long run. I’ll take any runback on someone with a good connection period I think, but I feel I’m bad enough that nobody could be so bad I wouldn’t want to practice and I seem to have a masochism complex to getting my shit kicked in online.

just played Rebelo 10 matches and lost all of them. at first he was kicking my ass so hard then I started to get a round off every match but still lost round 3. so yeah I noticed the “10 loses” lol
Also just learned from him that Vega’s wall dive can be made faster by holding down. learn some new tech every day
