light is -4 on block (punishable unless you do it at the tip) but it combos after cr.MK and you can super after it
medium is -2 on block and only combos after fierce attacks, but you can link after it with cr.MP. think of this like evil ryu’s medium axe kick in SF4; you need to start with a heavy button but you’ll get a combo on hit and it’s safe
heavy is 0 on block, only combos after heavy attacks, and knocks down. if people are really respecting your stomp pressure, you can use heavy as a block string and be at much better frame advantage than you would if you use the other versions
this means an important bnb for necalli is fierce xx MK stomp (charge back), link cr.MP xx medium rush punch
if you want to do combos that don’t involve starting with a fierce, you have a hit-confirm in st.MK, link cr.MP xx rush punch, but st.MK has pretty short range so this is a pretty point blank pressure string
he doesn’t have much off jab confirms. i think he has to spend bar with EX DP to get a realistic combo from most ranges, but i haven’t played around with it much.
necalli’s best attributes are his amazing pokes that are good at harassing and his super fast forward dash (he also has a good command throw to make this great). you should try to get into v-trigger fast, because it lasts the whole round and it really improves his movement
also he has a legit anti-air DP so you gotta be on point with anti-airs to force people to play the ground game against him
his rush punch is called "The Disc’s Guidance"
command grab is “Mask of Tlalli” (yes, that’s a word starting with T and L)
stomp is "Valiant Rebellion"
dp is “Raging Light” ok at least this one is half reasonable
chick claims she was “2008 street fighter world champion”. she uses cammy and only knows how to do cr.hk. went on ranked and got stomped multiple times and claims everyone is using “modificated” controls.
Got my madcatz te2plus today. USB cable is shorter than the older madcatz sticks unfortunately. But other then that it is pretty sweet. Easy to open up and mod via the latch. No need for a screwdriver anymore.
Ive found regular st.hp to be reasonably reliable for people who are above your head, and cr.hp is beeter when they are ahead of you a little since it moves her forwards. Honestly between those 2 i very rarely find a need to use meter for beating jump ins.
Also i would recommend experimenting with instant command dash cancelled into uppercut as anti air. The hitbox seems pretty good as ive been beating a lot of stuff with it. Bear in mind though it does move her forwards a bit more than cr.hp does.
Best part though is that if you hit them then you can juggle with super. Even better than that is you can do it even if you trade as well lol.
Edit : first online match i tried it in i won with a trade into super lol
i’m in the middle of balls ass nowhere, and it wasn’t that bad at all. solid 7.5 or 8/10.
mind you, it was PC to PC. There was some lag, no doubt, but for the most part it was 1010101010101x better than SFIV.
glad to know they are continually working hard to make this game perfect online.
going to save my remarks about necalli for now, until i get some real matches in face-to-face with someone… besides, I’d probably butcher it and totally don’t know what I’m doing.
necali stuff(might be rehashing some of ricky’s post):
basic bnb:
st.mp/mk, c.mp xx lp dash
blockstring
st.mp/mk, c.mp xx lk stomp (puts stomp at a range where you can’t be punished, dont always press buttons after though you can get beat)
good pokes:
c.mk is a pretty good poke, buffer lk stomp when you do it in case you counter hit them or something
s.hk is a really good mid range poke, if you can get them scared of your command grab and they jump, you’ll crush counter and they stay grounded. you can then walk up and st.hp xx mk stomp, c.mp xx lp dash
dash up in their face and st.mk, then do the blockstring
st.lk for tick throws
jumpins:
j.mk is your best jumpin ive seen. very good crossup and you can make it super ambigous sometimes where you will land(you will hit them with a crossup and land in front of them)
j.mp can jugle
j.hk is my go to air to air
v trigger(aka troll mode):
if you get a crush st.hk, walk in and do st.hp xx v trigger, st.mk, c,mp xx mp dash for a big confirm
you can really really easily c.mk xx v trigger, walk forward a step, st.mk, c.mp xx mp dash. this is the way ive gotten into vtrigger the most lol
when you’re in troll mode your dash is insanely fast and his hair kind of makes it hard to see what he’s doing
when in troll mode your specials have quicker startup im guessing, because you can cancel into things you couldn’t before. like c.mp xx mp dash, st.hp xx hk stomp, probably some more stuff
