One other thing that we could consider, is if we’re running multiple ranbats, we could instead go the league play route, which makes both venues that are opening their doors to us equally viable.
Unless we’re starting dojos that are going to do battle.
Sayer should have a pretty hard time hitting you though
Sin makes a big commitment with every poke, and gets a corresponding really big reward. His mixup sucks too so once you learn how to block him, things aren’t so bad. Of course most online Sins have no idea how to actually play and just try and FD you until the end of your blockstring whiffs, then they mash a button into a really easy and unoptimal special move combo that does huge damage anyway
There are a lot of whack moments but that comes with being an anime game… when everything clicks and you are playing somebody good though, god damn
I think so too, Dink got me thinking about it while we were out for beers last month. I already started templating out some ideas on how seasons would play out, it’s just a matter of scaling it to interest and a locked time frame at this point. I was actually holding off bringing it up so I could talk to everyone who came out on Sunday, but you ambitious mafs are forcing my hand lol.
It also plays to the strength of having multiple weekly venues in addition to CFN being platform agnostic. Even if you have an inconsistent schedule because of work or kids (or both whaa), that doesn’t exclude you from participating.
The problem with ranbats in my mind is that if you miss one week and you’re not placing top 3 every time, get fucked, you’re done.
EDIT: I also do like the idea of having some rival dojo action between people who frequent one night over another, if turn out is somewhat balanced.
Heres a question, is it like 1 frame or some shit to link SA3 off back medium kick as ken in 3S?
was trying to land that on a dude but it would never connect? (he was crouching)
Shrug, I was just getting hit by stupid shit all the time. I know Sol is ‘better’ but it was weird playing against him for an hour lol. If i don’t YRC any gunfire i get hit out of it free. I’m sure if played against the guy for another hour i’d body em like usual, he just switches to new characters all the time so i don’t learn them quick enough
Either way, I’m not trying to poach from anyone by hosting at Hexters. The space is there, the opportunity is there, and now the set up is there. We can have as many events as we need if we work together to set up something dope like Troy is suggesting.
I don’t think anyone should see another game night in town as poaching from the other. Instead it’s an opportunity for people to hang out and jam games more frequently and it means that if you can’t make one night, you’re not SOA for the rest of the week. I also think there’s room for both ranbats and league play, I think having venue specific leader boards could be pretty cool, that way there’s a little something for everyone.
Ya man it all works out. I can’t make it out on Sundays due to work so I host on Mondays. If there’s another thing on Wednesday that means more sf.it also creates a good spread in the city. Dickens (central), hexters(n.w), my place (n.e).
