Apparently Alex will be easy to buy because the single-player content will get you a huge influx of fight money off the bat… After him it’ll probably be a huge pain

sounds like they want you to buy every other character with fight money and spend that 4 bucks on the others
i’m guessing their strategy is to release new characters 1 or 2 months before major tournaments in order to increase sales.
Well the amount of fight money required at least solidified my strategy.
Gonna get the season pass, and then all my fight money over the year will go to next years characters.
Sure will be sad if SFV gets SFxTd
Capcom set their goal at 2 million copies sold apparently… Which seems like a low goal (MKX sold three times that many copies), but it’s still almost double what SFxT sold.

Ill probly end up getting the season pass myself. Ill probably be spending the fight money on costumes and stuff provided you can get them individually and not in packs.
I recall reading that colours will be unlocked via survival mode (which I really hope is not true)

Looks like you unlock the color for the costume - I don’t know if you’ll still have to use zeny/fightmoney to actually use it in game.
As for ps3/ps4 controller stuff : DS4s should be and probably will be banned for tournaments. Wireless controllers pose far too many problems, place an extra burden on pool judges/TOs and have the ability to ruin matches (on top of the measurable lag when multiple wireless devices are connected in a small area).
From the pictures I see in the SRK article, I don’t think Capcom is doing the labzero shit - I think they are manually disabling the bluetooth handshake/auth per port (and apparently per device per port?). This looks like all you will need to do for PS3 sticks is to plug it in, go to the menu and enable PS3 support on that port. Once it gets unplugged, who knows what will happen. This still means at least 1 ps4 stick will be required to enable PS3 mode for that port/device but it is conceivable for pool judges/opponents to have a wired PS4 device on them in order to do that.
Hopefully my dual modded 360 stick will work.
Im sure i recall seeing that the survival mode will unlock colours in the store. May suggest you still have to buy them with zenny to use them.
Capcom are gonna put like a million things in the store to distract you away from spending that money on characters. Do the characters only have 1 taunt each atm? Wouldnt be surprised if you have to buy/unlock those too.

the only other “hard” ones are get to gold rank in ranked play (dunno how hard this will be), clear survival on extreme difficulty, earn 1 million fight money, and win 300 online fights
Wireless DS4’s will be legal at Evo. (So probably lots of other tournies as well… For better and worse…)
I’m just going to buy everything outright… I don’t play online so I’ll never earn the required fight money.
I’m curious on the fight money cost though. How long will it take for your average Joe to earn these things?
