I don’t know, this netcode is fucking dogshit. Even setting the connection to “5 whatever” only, I’m still getting way too many bad connection. How do they expect you to play a game so footsies based with this terrible rollback? Really hope it’s impoved on release, even if they just adjust the latency window on whatever this 5 rated connection is.

with laura you’re just supposed to do a cancelable normal into dash into command grab and hope they’re sleeping, or get them to block shoulder and then make a read

Pretty sure cancelling into vdash is only going to work short term… otherwise it’ll just be a way to get hit or lose pressure because she’s negative. I don’t even think she has an invincible attack to mix up with? Armored rush elbow thing I guess?

Blocked jab elbow is also instant pressure loss because they can buffer jab and beat everything

yeah her ex elbow has 1 hit of armor, it seems like she can hit with a light elbow and she has the option to command throw, block, or ex elbow if they’re gonna try and mash an attack. Because fuck blocking~

I think her fireball is insanely good and makes her viable though.

I think she’ll end up as a very viable mid-tier. I don’t think YOLO characters are necessarily bad (Batgirl in Injustice). Sonicfox is playing her if you wanna watch someone take names with the character… He pretty much exclusively plays YOLO characters so it fits well…

I’m really enjoying SFV. I didn’t think I would as much as I have. Kinda feels like a love child of things I like about Soul Calibur and SF. Weird to me why it took so long for a 2D game to adapt what always made SC so accessible. Netcode isn’t the best but maybe it will be one day…

sfv is definitely a weird game, i feel like you can press all the buttons you want up close after blocking something (because everything meaningful is negative on block), or you could just block forever (because offense isn’t that scary outside a few command grab characters)

like… yeah, if you block laura’s elbow, you just take control back by hitting jab, but the jab doesn’t lead to much because you’ll get pushed out and unable to confirm with 2 jabs, so it’s just a bunch of muddled soup there, you know? nobody can do anything meaningful. you could block and everything will probably be okay, or you could hit jab and nobody cares, etc

the game is fun when you get into mid-range footsies stuff with nash buttons or dash throw or whatever, but i dunnnooooooooooooooo, i guess that really is the whole game probably?

all day saturday will be a huge preview of season 3 gameplay and character changes (and it sounds like there will be a lot of that, a lot of the community is excited to see how the game will change from season 2 to 3), followed by a bunch of last chance qualifiers for the 32-man bracket, some season 3 exhibitions with newly revealed characters, and some art exhibitions and other stuff

then sunday is the full 32-man invitational bracket, capcom cup style

if you are at all interested in KI ahead of the season 3 PC release in march, i would recommend you check it out at some point during the weekend. KI is a really good spectator game too, so it could give you entertainment while you’re chilling and doing something else. if you open the stream at a random time during the weekend, you will probably see something cool happening.

if you guys only want to be in Training Mode with no Fight Requests, set your Dummy to Recording Mode. it puts the Fight Request on Pause the entire time your Dummy is in Recording Mode.
