i just booked an evo hotel room (max 4 people)
cost me $440 US over 4 nights, so split 4 ways that’s about $110 US per person for hotel accommodations for evo, which isn’t that bad
they charged the first night to my credit card but they say i can cancel that deposit as long as it’s at least 14 days before the trip

I think the comparison here is between a console and a desktop. In that regard to make a sf5 setup at say tubbies it uses the same number of wires except a keyboard. It’s offline so you just need power, video, controllers and a mouse + kb
I mean if u have one of those gigantic cases for 3x sli or something it might be a pain, but my pc is like the size of 2 xboxen and I move it around my house and to lans nbd
Me, Alvin and another player from our area played GGXrd at the airport on my laptop while we were waiting for a flight. It was grand.
Heck we almost got an “I got next” from a random dude walking by but he forgot his stick/pad was in his checked luggage and left.

yeah SF5 beta netcode does seem better, although i keep getting japanese and european players because of the time of day so it’s hard to tell
most connections are still really bad over that distance but i had a few that were okay-ish
i wish they’d let me skip the 10-15 second post-match screen results 
i’m kind of taking a liking to nash, i don’t like that he doesn’t have invincible anti-air (though i can see why they don’t give it to him) but his grounded buttons are pretty fun, fwd+LK hits from downtown which feels uncommon in this game

I cant decide if i want to go to evo this year. Ive never really been able to get into watching tournies and the like. Sure its ok and all but i tend to get bored. Main reason i want to go is because it seems like everyone is going this year. Also rickys room sounds like the best room to me. I made the mistake of staying in the skullgirls salty suite last time i went and basically got no fucking sleep.
laura is kinda cool? i couldn’t figure out any like… real link combos in the 5 minutes i just tried with her. I like her forward and back V skill though. It’s about as close to abel as we’ll get i guess lol
I like parrying shit as Ryu the most so far in this game, some karen player would just walk up do a low attack into some 4 attack string and i’d just parry parry parry parry lol
i’m going to evo just because i haven’t been since 2011, and i thought it’d be fun in SF5’s inaugural year, plus there’s some KI folks i’d like to meet
still not even sure if i care enough to enter the tournament itself
