I was gonna add Pokken to Ricky’s list a page ago as a joke… but the joke would have been on me! But it does make me smile that it’s the game that took SF4’s spot, just for the troll factor.
I read that arcade owners in Japan are trying to get rid of cabinets because the game isn’t profitable… odd choice.

Pokken is gonna be weird as fuck considering apparently player 1 is always forced to use the wii u gamepad to play on instead of that special controller they made for it.

Pretty much the roster I expected.
SF4 had to go, it’s purely a business decision. Capcom is no longer supporting it and putting all their efforts into SF5. They would of course want their latest and greatest to be marketed to the world over an older product.
Almost every game on the roster with the exception in melee and marvel (marvel is a hmmm for that decision but melee still pulls in high numbers) is either new or currently being supported by their companies.
I feel sorry for the fool that volunteers to hold the side USF4 tourney ahah. It’ll have more entrants than every other game except sfv.

it seems like they might put evo tickets on sale really soon
which means we should figure out who is planning to go so we can, uh, book the sunday stadium tickets in a bunch? otherwise you’re just going to sit near random people
with the canadian dollar being so fucked right now, what’s the estimate on what an evo trip is gonna cost?
i think the flights will still be about the same as in past years (i would estimate $300-400 CDN if you find a good deal some time between now and evo)
i dunno about hotels, but if people split a room i guess it’ll be $50 a day at worst? food will probably be the thing that is affected the most, but you can budget there
i dunno, i would guess you could do evo for $800 CDN (or less) no problem and still enjoy yourself
Hotels are super cheap right now. 80-120 usd a night on the strip. Sooo like 110-160 a night Canadian, split however many ways.
Not gonna be that expensive unless you eat out thrice a day.

Also, given the state of our dollar I would suspect more in the $1500 range for an Evo trip if you want to do more than play games and eat.
