Yup, it’s deliberate and always been like. The cheesiest of VA is part of MK! They have good, prominent voice actors for Injustice, so they’re doing it on purpose. MK started as a parody of those movies.
Mileena’s redesign looks awesome. Doesn’t give me hope my main, Baraka is returning though… there’s some low-res goons from his race in the trailer :(.
If sf starts @ 11 I have a chance to make it! It’s really late for a tour u but I’m downn!!
Also I think going for a pc is the better route for me. I’ve had several laptop over the last few years and they all overheat n die. If MIKE built his computer on 08 and it’s starting to show signs of wear n tear than I’d rather take 7 years over 3. Plus it looks like I can build a pretty good pc that runs games on steam streams and anything else I need it to do for like $800. I don’t really need top of the line stuff mid-tier(lol) is good enough for me. Plus if I find I need to upgrade parts or whatever it seems a lot easier for a desktop over a laptop. I’ll look into it some more tho thanks guys
It will come in handy almost as much as my “I don’t even play that game” option-select.
Seriously though… Watch the 90’s MK movie. The levels of ham is just like the VA in the MK games. And since MK never left the 90’s behind (see Spawn and Predator), it’s pretty hard to imagine it isn’t diliberate. Even the dialogue in the new comic series is suuuper cheesy, and then compare to the Injustice comic which is still one of the best written superhero comics at the moment. Cheese is part of MK’s flavour. MK always finds a perfect balance between ridiculous levels of gore, but still comes off as tongue-in-cheek, and funny. I think the cheese is part of that atmosphere. If it was all dark, gritty, Dark Knight type dialogue it wouldn’t be MK anymore.
Not trying to be an asshole, but I’ve always attributed the hammy acting to bad production values. It never seemed deliberate, but more like a 13 year old/90’s comic/McFarlanesque way of trying waaay too hard to be cool.
Haha I know, but to me that extreme, unadultered 90’sness is part of it. Also, I watched Max’s vid picking out a few of the characters shown. Looks like Baraka is playable! There’s a frame where it shows him as a fighter on the dock stage.
But that’s why we’re trying this place out a Friday night, I don’t think many of us have to be up super early in the morning for work tomorrow… unless you’re me
