what I mean is, an actual relationship.
because ya know, shes a feminist of the nerd community and all…
I’m pretty sure if she found a cool ass dude that can give it her good and provide her needs.
I hope that can change her opinion of men, ya know.
Men aren’t thaaaat bad.
A lot of men take good care of girls.
Feminist can paint picture of the men in the community as rampant crazy psycho female bullies.
To be honest, I don’t give a sh1t if a girl plays video games or not.
If a girl plays a video game, and it makes her happy. I’m actually happy for her as well, ya know.
We’re not like, “hey gurl, you’re in the wrong territory! this video game shit is ours. GO HOME!!! DON"T COME BACK!!!”
I don’t see how anyone could possibly take twitch chat seriously. It is the most basic, bog-standard and effortless way to troll people, and yet for some reason there are still people who take the things said by Twitch monsters to heart. I think the people who take them seriously have something wrong with their perception of reality.
Sadly people take their own lives over less than that. The thought has never come close to crossing my mind but I can’t speak for everyone who could be effected by shitty people online. (Especially for people who never knew life without the modern day Internet. It’s a part of who they are) I’d prefer it just be a better place than just have people get a reality check (which I imagine isn’t that easy for some people)
I didn’t even have the Internet at home until high school I think (parents are super ludites)… But if I grew up on it 4 hours a day I might have taken people on it more seriously, and my reality would be different.
you learn a lot about people by how they’re willing to act online when they think nobody can punish them
every online troll comment has been typed by a real person who didn’t care about the repercussions of his/her actions because of anonymity
you can ignore all these people if you want but it’s a lot easier said than done depending on your circumstance. i don’t think “it’s in twitch chat, so it doesn’t count” is valid.
if you cant take twitch chat for what it is - a place where you can say whatever you want without any repercussions outside of the effort required in setting up an email address - you probably shouldn’t be putting yourself out there for the world to see/talk about in the first place
if I had a nickel for everyone who called me a dumb nigga who should kill himself on my streams I would be a rich man
or that my cat is an ugly piece of shit that people want to decapitate and fuck
or that my wife is a hog
or that my beard is stupid and im a bear
or etc etc etc etc
ok, but would YOU set up a fake email address just so that you can go on other people’s streams and say that type of thing?
no, because you’re a well adjusted human being
my point is that twitch chat is encouraging a type of behavior that makes terrible human beings, and it will be impossible to keep that influence to ONLY the confines of twitch chat. it will become harder and harder over time to just say “he’s trolling, just ignore him”, there need to be some checks and balances
at a flames game this year the cowboys girls were giving out tickets to something in my section. this dude behind me was yelling more or less stripper names at them the entire time. he didn’t even need to anonymity of the internet to be an asshole
twitch chat doesn’t really enable people or encourage behavior I don’t think. as long as there is a way for humans to communicate, there will be a way for people to be assholes - anonymously or not
The essay I could write couldn’t be long enough. How many people walk up to you in the streets and call your beard stupid and your wife a hoe? I can count on one hand the amount of people I don’t know well who have talked shit to me in my life.
And the cat calling thing is obviously rooted in other, well documented things, not anonymity (But it’s also being an ill-adjusted ass hat).
i just ran for 30 mins for the first time in years.
it feels awesome.
there seems to be a divide in which games are popular right now – what games would you guys want to see in a tournament at gigabonk evo series pt. 1 ?
mike you said marvel… i don’t see a problem with that if there is enough interest. keep in mind there is plenty of time for casuals throughout the evening.
That’s amazing! I just started trying to get my cardio up as well and can barely run for 10 minutes at 7km p/h. Teach me your ways. (I want to be Liquid Snake at this years comic expo )
the options as they stand (as far as i can tell) are USF4, Xrd, KI, Injustice, Marvel and Smash. but the tournaments that attract the most people are going to be our priority i think.
as far as “my ways” lol, it just took a little heart-to-heart with myself telling me I could do it. that, and some legalized stimulants from GNC. shit is like liquid cocaine haha. I would have probably given up around 12 mins in but i could feel that stuff working it’s magic and the rest was easy. my legs are gonna be sore tomorrow, but i’ll do it again. this time i’ll aim for 35
