Yeah, it’s based on Dororo, by the same guy who created Astroboy. The premise is kinda fucked up, but I’ve heard great things about it. It plays a little like Devil May Cry.

“Got that wrong”? Almost every episode is based off a real-life strory with a fuck ton of things changed so as not to get sued. But yes, anytime Law and Order deals with video games it’s like looking through a portal to 20 years ago. But Dick Wolf is a million years old, so I guess it makes sense.
Pretty sure the memes will last 2 days as usual and not forever. Law and Order has had numerous video game episodes and they’re all equally terrible and you don’t hear about those anymore.
This whole episode is so badly written that I have to wonder if it’s a meta-troll. It makes anti-GG’s arguments look like the ridiculous cartoon that they actually are; that all gamers are out-of-control skinny white dudes who will rape and beat a woman simply for being a woman in our precious game industry.
The episode even ends with the AniWuQuinn caricature stating that gamers have “already won”. So…
While totally not true, it’s easy to see why some people looking from the outside in might think that’s the case. It’s definitely a problem that needs to be fixed. If your exposure to gamers is reading Twitch chat, I don’t blame that person for thinking this might be what people actually act like in public.
To be fair though Twitch chat has gotten a lot better (I’m not sure why? Heavy modding?). I actually think Twitch has become a great tool for diversity in gaming lately. There’s a good number of girls streaming now who aren’t using sexuality to try and get views, and their chats are 99% respectable, and filled with female viewers. So that’ll help get more women into the scenes hopefully. And help the outside world see that we’re not all skinny-white monsters who apparently beat and rape women in public.
Stuff like this will get better and better and then both sides can shut up about it.
