Looks awesome. I read that Arc System Works recently got the license to this and a few other older franchises so it wouldn’t surprise me if we saw a sequel down the road by them.
It looks nice but I’m wondering why they’re bothering to make it look like an NES game instead of a SNES game.
If you’re gonna do sprite art that colorful and detailed you might as well try to make it look 16-bit, not 8-bit.

I really don’t understand how MGS4 was reviewed that way. The awesomeness of it all outweighed the bad but there was a loooot of bad. It’s undoubtedly the worst of the 4. Matthewmatosis’ series on mgs sums up my thoughts on 4 pretty well.
MGS1 and 3 are my besties though. And 2 gets a lot better when you look back at all the genius devices Kojima used to make points. (All the ways, some more obvious than others, that Kojima used to consistently make you feel inferior are just mind-blowing… And deliberately doing that to people playing your game takes wrecking balls for testicles)
If someone held a gun to my head and I needed to pick between 1 and 3 though, I dunno if I could. No matter which choice I made I wouldn’t feel good about… 3 has The Boss but 1 has Foxhound! Hardest choice since choosing between Autobots or Decepticons in Splatoon the other day.
I liked #1 but they kinda abandoned everything I liked about it in the later games. Haven’t really been a fan since.
Don’t get me started on the overwrought cinematics.

imo kojima makes great games but absolutely shit stories
I dunno I thought MGS3’s story was incredible … that end battle against the Boss! The feels!
MGS5 apparently has almost no story whatsoever, ditched all that in favor of being the most awesome sandbox you could ever imagine
