A not 9 year old game would be better. Someone is just reaching to use their PS4 for something other than a closet space taker-uper ;). Search your feelings… You know it to be true.

they’ll pull a umvc3 vita on us and only let you see hitboxes in the ps4 version

eh the hitbox stuff is never quite as enlightening as you think it’d be, imo

to properly apply that stuff you will need to play so many matches you will get an intuitive understanding of how the hitboxes work anyway.

PS4 port seems totally pointless though unless they have Extreme HD versions of all the models & textures sitting around at Capcom HQ. and even then they would probably put out a new PC port that looks better and runs smoother than the PS4 version

hitboxes have always explained away the weirdness of the game, why move interactions are the way the are, etc.
it’s extremely frustrating when capcom doesn’t adjust a move’s animation to match tweaked hitboxes (see: rose scarf, hakan/makoto unable to throw some dashes, balrog wakeup)
also helps show you how close X -> Y is to comboing, so you can get new ideas for combos, resets, buffers, traps, etc.

everybody who wants to play SF4 has it on either PC or their console of choice, I don’t really see the point in spending resources to put it on PS4/XB1, since it will just fragment the player base even more in the best case, and not be played because people don’t have sticks in the worst case

the game looks as good as it’s gonna look, at 60 fps, on last-gen consoles anyway (and there’s PC with working sticks for everything else)

Lets be honest, ultra is going to suck ass anyway. Its useless to release it on any console.

guess they figured it was a useless change anyway since 11f delayed wakeup and tsumuji being HKD anyways. i will prob still play ibuki. looks like they finally fixed target combo dropping for no fucking reason. command jump has no recovery now? (will prob be my new get-out-corner move instead of command dash.) HP->HP target combo now special cancellable? veery interesting. not to mention cr.lp is now 3F instead of 4F HELL YEAH (altho it says startup “increased”… shouldnt it say decreased?).

mk tsumuji is now -4 instead of -3 on block but it doesnt matter cuz they’re too far back to punish anyways (are there long range 4f moves? could be…) overhead is now +3 instead of +4 on block, who cares. i thought it was like 0/-1 lol. tsumuji vertical hitbox buffed so it will no longer drop on crouching gen… good fix.

delayed wakeup will hurt my offense but help my defense since ibuki doesnt have much wakeup options. will be fun to try to figure out new ways to mixup after 11f delayed wakeup. (empty kunai -> command dash? empty, jump, IA kunai?)

looks like SJC air juggle resets will be her new go-to mixups instead of hardknockdowns. they’re way harder but way flashier so im okay with that.

yang buffs seem toned down a bit, in previous builds he was doing yun combos like lp lp lp mp -> mantis, i wonder if he can still do that, theres not much mention of it. werent they saying he could do cr.lk -> cr.mk too? maybe they took it away. ill still play him tho.

and i gotta keep playing e.ryu. health buff from 900->950?!?! sweep 7f->6f?!? not bad.
