building new models is not only time consuming, but also expensive. you can bet that the team capcom put on this Ultra project nonsense was pressed for both time and money.
of course I agree that an entirely new character, or one not based off an existing model would have been pretty awesome, but sometimes these things are just not possible given the constraints. It’s one thing to recognize this and still be disappointed, but another to just think Capcom sucks or is being lazy or hates everyone
if you think Japanese game developers are lazy, you need a reality check. they may be a bit out of touch with western interests at times, but lazy they are not

Capcom is broke, Decapre was the easiest, cheapest character for them to put in USF4 (The other dolls even still would be cheaper to make than a new character). It’s lazy but Capcom is pretty much trying to squeeze blood (money) from a stone at this point.
I have no issues with Decapre and kinda wanna play sf4 again just to mess around with her.

The team on USF4 is lazy. Hugo, Poison, Rolento, Elena models were pretty much ported from SFxTekken. Decapre is based off a Cammy model. There’s not a single new model in these 5 new characters. If that isn’t lazy, I don’t know what is.
Even Capcom themselves admitted that people will be dissapointed/upset with the 5th character. The fact that they admitted that shows that even they are aware of the half-assed effort they put in.

yeah, new models take time, but the game is 40 fucking dollars. that’s nearly the cost of the original game outright
