wtf ever happened to versus xiii? that game actually looked a bit promising. they unveiled the trailer in 2006. TWO THOUSAND SIX. thats 6 fucking years ago. not a single bit of new info or anything in 6 fckin years. dear god even if they cancelled it they should atleast make an announcement or something. am i the only in the dark about this? since then theyve announced ffxiv and ffxiii 2 without having released the game they said they would release 6 yrs ago, that actually had a character that looked kinda cool. i dont really give a shit now, even they did release it it would probably be shit.
i hate to say it but square enix sucks balls now. all they do is milk their FF franchise. like wtf is this?:
hmm Jamie do you know how Guile’s close/far mk does against your jump roundhouse? I’m at school still and can’t really test it right now, or even close neutral roundhouse??
i thought as much. it’s gotta be better then the RWY composite cable though, right.

Far mk works good. You have to be wary of spacing andy. If I jump at certain angles I will beat c. fierce pending certain timings also. it’s constant mixup.
It should be 50/50 on me jumping on c. fierce but it seems to work consistently on you.
Fang was cool in FF13. I’d actually say Lightning is kinda cool too. But everyone else… garbage.
The problem with FF13 is that it’s mashing the x-button for like 80% game (main story-wise). You can get by with like only 2-3 paradigms for this. The next 20% is a little bit funner cause the difficulty ramps up and you have to shift between your paradigms more often.
If you’re went for all the hunts, I know that to get a 5-star rating on the final hunt, you needed to constantly switch between at least 5 paradigms to actually beat the opponent. It’s too bad the rest of the game wasn’t like this because that fight was actually pretty fun.
But yeah as far as FF’s go, it’s 2nd worst on my list.
They changed the shortcut motion. I believe in AE, they had changed the leniency to allow you to drop the last back input, but in 2012 they changed it back to the Super shortcut which lets you drop the forward input. Something like that. I haven’t actually found it more/less annoying, but mostly because I hardly use it in any matchups… though apparently it’s good against fuerte, so I’ll have to try that out.
12 was the worst IMO. I know some people have that on their top, but I just hated the story so much. 13 I actually had to press buttons, but 12… there were points where I didn’t even have to press any buttons at all and practically fell asleep because of it.
My favorite was actually FF 4: the After Years. FF4 and FF6 are up there as well.
Component can do 1080P, your Tv just has to allow it. When the 360 Came out allot of TVs didt’ not allow 1080p component as a anti Pirate thing. SO if you wanted your 360 1080p and not Interlaced, you had to get the PC adapter or have a TV that allowed 1080p through component. Now the PS3 has a habit of only allowing you to play games in its native res, which was 720p or 480p at launch. So people like me who had a HDCRT that did 480i/p or 1080I I was SOL. No HD ps3. The 360 has a built in scaler that lets you scale to any resolution so regardless or your TV your gonna get a HD signal if its a HDTV. However allot of the newer Ps3 games do the upscaling for you and let you do whatever resolution you want.
My sharp Aqous that is 4-5 years old now does 1080P component. I use to run my 360 1o80 on it through component till I got a HDMI model of the 360.
FF6 is my Fave but it was my first FF. I rember when i discovered RPGs, it was a golden time to do so on SNES. I had BOF2, CT, FF6, SOM. So many classics. For me RPG’s haven’t really been the same after PSone.SNES and PSone were the Golden age of JRPGS IMO
Gurren Lagann is a better watch if you have seen a bunch of anime… it spends a lot of the first few episodes riffing on anime cliches. you have to make it through to … episode 8 I’d say, at least. don’t give up until you’ve made it that far. then episode 16 things kick up another notch
12 is my favorite of the series and I still didn’t like it enough to actually beat it.
7 was awesome when I was 12 years old. I went back and tried to re-visit that shit a couple years ago because I remembered it so fondly and couldn’t even make it past the first disc… the game is so not good. terrible graphics outside of battles, too easy to break the game, disjointed, cliche-ridden, juvenile story with ludicrous plot twists, paper flat characters, terrible translation, and it is way too long.
Gurren Lagann is the most epic anime of the new generation and maybe of all time.
Cinplex Odeon is playing the FMA: Brotherhood movie in select locations the end of this month. I believe there’s some in Calgary as well so you might want to check listings.
