Haha i actually just finished 100%ing it last night, i havent played it in years prior to that… 79 fucking hours i’ll never get back haha. I disliked it for so long but figured i’d go back and see why i actually stopped liking it.
I don’t know why you ever switched to U2, it whiffs on sim a lot from what I saw when Greg was messing with hawk. I would go for the huge damage and raw fear a 720 inspires, especially in low health characters like sim.
dunno if I’ll see it. It sounds like a side story they just jammed in the main plotline somewhere, which is kinda dumb… I watched the chars develop start to finish, the only thing I’m interested in now is what happens to them after the main story is done. It would be cool to see FMA on the big screen though. It is one of the best drawn & animated shows I’ve ever seen.
My three favorite drawn & animated shows - FMA: Brotherhood, Gurren Lagann, and Death Note. Code Geass is too CLAMP for my liking although they have some pretty awesome character designs. Older shows are so inconsistent… at its best, NGE was awesome, but at its worst it was literally not animated at all. Berserk had some great eps towards the end. Kenshin had some good eps too, and the scene where Kenshin says goodbye to Kaoru was better than a lot of movies I’ve seen… it is so good any flashback to it is jarring because the animation is 10,000 times better. Hokuto no Ken though … it never looked good hahahah
yeah every day is too much boss. i gotta take care of life stuff. laundry doesn’t get done, dishes don’t get washed, etc. etc. if i do the HQ thing every day.
that and the last time i went nobody came except daniel and mike… there was a huge request for it and nobody showed?!
SO my schedule will be TUESDAY no matter what
Dug / Jamie when can you open?
i don’t know what day i can open rn, i’m gonna be in 3 bands soon so each of my days aer booked off for band practice. I can do late tuesday night but not for long cause of school next morning so like a 10:00-1:00 thing roughly
Wow Tetsu, that’s very unlike you. You’re always so nice. That must have pushed your buttons a little, hehe.
For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t change anything in the scene. What keeps me coming back is the people, not so much the competition and least of all the games.
I also accepted that job, so I’ll be starting on Wednesday. Slightly better pay than my last position and HUUUGE bonuses over the course of the year :D. Sorry, don’t mean to gloat, but it’s been a while.
Andrew, I can’t remember the last time I agreed with anything you said, but FFXII was definitely an underrated gem. And this is coming from someone who pretty much hates Final Fantasy.
IM sorry but im laughing at the trolling and flaming you guys are putting out.
I didnt at all even mention that calgary was free. in fact I only stated that I thought I would have more serious competition.
The toronto scene is weak aside from very few players. and I guess its probably the same in most communities.
Flaming about theory fighting = your wrong. Derryk is the only person aside from the marvel guy I have given advice to thus far. Marvel guy ( sorry I dont know your name) you even admitted that night when I brought it up that it was your only setup. I was just trying to be constructive and give you a tip, whether you knew it already or not.
Theory fighting is practical in more ways than just commentary. and this is where thinking that just watching match vids of you is wrong. because unless you THINK about what is going on, and come up with multiple possible solutions to situations. Taking them to training mode. and finding out what works. Your not going to get better by playing 500 matches straight, but you can get better by dropping 480 of those matches and dumping that time into discovering solutions.
Theory fighter isnt blurting frame data out on stream.
theory fighter (in part) is discovering knowledge ( either self thought or through coaching/research) and finding ways to utilize what you have discovered in a match.
im going to read the rest of the two pages that have popped up since the flame war happened. see what else I can rebuttal with.
also - Jozhear, Id love to play your claw sometime.
Edit : training mode is not there just so you can practice youtube combos.
The thing is I play games strictly for fun, and I start to lose that fun if I play seriously (this doesn’t mean I’m not trying my best tho!) Maybe that’s why I think Calgary’s fighting game scene is competitive enough.
