yeah, MAX range sweep(litterally the last hittable pixels) makes it safe, when i was doing it too deep its a 300+ dmg punish, and since vs vega you cant stop sweeping, had to figure something out
thats an incredibly tense matchup, though i need to hit the lab to figure out the st.lk(i think?) pressure. its like boxer’s st.lp except it sets up a kara grab

everyone is getting so strong, you need to develop new technology to even stay competitive
for example, c.lp, c.lk xx ex rush upper loop doesn’t hold up anymore, i need to switch to a much harder link to get that extra damage and stun in, otherwise i will die

something i haven’t exactly tried too much yet is a this frame trap i developed: fadc dash punch, c.mk, c.lp, s.lp, sweep/upper loop. by now most people expect a grab after an fadc’d dash punch but i always forget to use it
Yeah st Lk downside is I put myself in a risky range . Can get jumped in in and jabbed more easily than c. Mp. its a really good offensive tool but its just important how you evaluate how much space is between you and Vega and which buttons you should think about pressing, like usual. It’s a good combo tool but not so much against rog, I more or less use it to get counter hits against rush punches or etc. And of course to get grab mixups going. i think you have a really solid idea of the mu; I was having a pretty hard time.

I think you can jump in more on Vega. The thing with rog is my best anti airs outside of air grab are st and walk under trip guard. J Rh from rog beats both of those, really hard to get around. And think about this, if I go for air grab and you don’t jump I essentially give you a free jump in. It’s pretty hard to react to a jump to air grab; I think its the one thing missing from your ground game because jumping in also pretty much voids all my pokes barring st Rh. You make me scared to poke, then you can poke from a place you’re comfortable or walk into jab range. You make me scared to jump and use air to airs, you jump in. Balrog has no mixups but the thing is you can get into a position to pressure Vega and if you’re pressuring Vega he is significantly weaker. Frame traps and throws with balrog means a slow victory but its the best way to win. Ex upper and straight to chip and control space is really solid too.
I’ve met one or two of you over the years but a lot of you are new players and I’m simply nothing but a washed up old man who was only good at one game. 3rd Strike. But seriously, that game is old news. SSF4 is where it’s at.
I just wanted to say hi to everyone and give a big thanks to everyone here, especially Lap Chi, for running Canada Cup and putting JS on the map outside of the east coast. I’ve honestly been a huge JS Master fan since he was a little teenager (yes homo) and have been trying to hype him up for a large portion of the last few years. I simply don’t have the connections, resources, or even the motivation to even attempt at running a real tournament. I’m not a tournament organizer by any means and I never will be. You guys gave us Canada’s biggest SF tournament in history and even though I wasn’t there, it was fucking amazing. It’s an incredible feat and you had the “go big or go home” attitude. You helped the Canadian scene in so many ways; When I saw JS Master beat Justin Wong and jump up with his huge celebration, I seriously wanted to fucking cry for two reasons: I can’t even explain how happy I was for the kid and also because he achieved what 99% of us hardcore players in Canada have always wanted to accomplish.
Let’s face it. I’m off the map. Most of you probably haven’t even heard of me. But I hope to over the years. I’ll be at Evo this year and next year and I’ll be quitting street fighter (I told myself I’d quit when I’m 30) and all I ask is that if you ever see me at a tournament or at Evo, approach me to say hi and allow me to shake your hands (yes homo).

were all gonna be locked down at the hotel during the day playing games so leaving the biggest fighting game function to goto an arcade seems kinda reduntant
during night people will choose either to hit the night life or the salty suit so im like 99% sure u will either goto that place alone or be pressured to do what everyone else does

Also I really love playing cvs2 with people. I am sorry if it seems like I am being a jerk. sometimes. I am just really excited about the game and get silly, also I dont like to throw games ever so i try my best to stomp people because I find it offensive if someone doesnt do their best against me.

If I go I’ll probably be staying longer than just EVO. I have a stupid amount of holidays this year and it will be my first Vegas trip ever… so I’ll be getting lost everywhere I can! Plus that place looks pretty sweet for a side journey.

Ive been to vegas previously to EVO, and from my experience it was more about EVO then vegas
there were a couple times when id wanna wander or do something but i was forced to get drunk and fall asleep during the tourny kuz i didnt wanna be alone hahaha
