Vipers trials are so damn easy this time around lol.
i’d also like to add that you can do c.lp instead of c.mp. i found it easier for me this way. i remember that in vanilla, they had it as c.lp instead of standing, so i just added the c.lp in there.
I tried adding c. lp in there, but it feels like my timings off. For some reason even if I SJC into Ultra, it won’t hit Dan either with the standing jab.
I’ll try to mix it up alittle bit and try other combos, I was shitting bricks when I learned how to do this in vanilla, so I’m alittle pissed they changed it.
Still can’t do that last damn trial though, sucks looking at every other one completed for a character I know I’m terrible with.

it’s been forever since I jumped on this board… hey guys, I’m really having trouble with trial 21 here… I tried searching and found nothing, so I guess I’m the only n00blet who has trouble with it?? lol. I get right to the TK cancel, and that’s where I eff up… either Dan blocks the Ultra or I end up doing an EX SH… any tips??

learn to do trial 3 on sf4… ive found sjc ultra was like 10 times harder on vanilla…
also after s.lp, do c.mp into ultra…that should make things easier…
these days pulling off fff, sjc fadc on ssf4…doesnt seem to be as impressive anymore

have done all but number 22. ultra never connects (i get the high jump cancel though). tips on how to connect the ultra? i have connected the lp to ultra before just by doing those two moves, but when doing the full combo it never did.
I just finished all of Viper’s trials. The jab xx sj xx ultra is nasty.
I feel like a million bucks for finishing them.

That trial was my last one to finish as well. My advice is to just get down the timing so you never miss the jab xx sjc. Other than that, it is just a LOT of attempts because the timing is very tight (I’m guessing one frame) on the jab xx sjc xx ultra, versus c.strong xx sjc xx ultra, which doesn’t appear to be tight. Make sure you are doing qcf (the second one) very quickly and don’t hit 3P too early. Other than that, I think I really just got lucky…
Oh, one more thing, Einlanzer, after reading your post again, you said “ultra never connects.” This leads to me question how you are doing your jab xx sjc.
Are your inputs:
:lp::qcf::uf: :qcf::3p:
OR
:qcf::lp::uf: :qcf::3p:
Because if you are doing the first one, it won’t work. You’ll get a jab, ultra which does NOT connect because jab does not do enough hit stun.
Instead, you need to do the second one, that way you get jab xx sjc xx ultra, which does connect.

Hi all.
Been trying viper’s trials on SSFIV. I did all of hers in SFIV with just my DS3, but I’m having issues with them in SSFIV somehow. Main thing I can’t seem to do is consistently thunder knuckle cancel.
I can consistently EX TK cancel by using the HP + MP + LP button for both the ex and the cancel, but I think the EX TK is too slow to combo the ultra off of (for that one trial…21 I think?) or to combo crouch.HP + TK cancel + c.HP.
When I try to TK cancel any non-ex TKs, I just can’t seem to do it, ever. Guess my questions are.
Am I pressing the two punches too fast? Too slow? How quickly and when should I press them? Should I wait until her animations start for the TK?
Am I crazy about the EX TK cancel being too slow, or should I go ahead and use that?
Any additional pointers about tk cancelling? SJC are no problem as I can do all of her other trials pretty easily, as long as they don’t involve a TK cancel
Finally got done with trial #22 thanks to JDH’s suggestion. Thanks :).
Trial 21: the best way I found was to do medium thunder knuckle. You cancel it the same way you would cancel into a super, except propably faster because the thunder knuckle should look like it doesn’t even come out at all. IOW, you do (FA, c.HP) QCB+MP, QCF, QCF+3P. You don’t have to press 2 punch buttons to cancel the thunder knuckle. If you do that, it will only slow you down. The 3P for the ultra will do it.
I thought negative edging the HP for the TK and then do QCF+3P (TK cancel), QCF+3P (Ultra) is the easiest way for this trial
I just wanted to say thanks alot guys. Your tips on how to do vipers trials really helped me go back and knock out both SF4, and SSF4. I have a whole new respect for any viper mains.
i’ll give that a try once im done with studying for finals.
last time i tried, i was trying to buffer the first qcf before the lp, and then tiger knee motion as soon as i land the lp. everytime i did it, it looked like it would connect. guess i’ll just have to practice even more. haha.

fyi you can cheat some of her trials
for example for the st.jab sjc ultra you can just link cr.mp from st.jab and do sjc ultra which i imagine is easier for alot of people
another example is instead of doing cr.hp feint ultra, you can just do FFF ex seismo sjc ultra or FFF ex seismo burning kick ultra in the corner.

I finally did all of Viper’s trials in Super today! I’ve finished all the trials! I used the cr. mp SJC in both 21 and 22. Thanks for the advice in this thread.
I finished 22 a while back, but damn, I’m glad to have that one behind me. I can beast all of her other trials… some are getting extremely easy for me. However whenever I revisit 22, I CANNOT beat it again.
Tonight I hit the combos three times in a row EXCEPT instead of a standing jab I got a c.jab. Three consecutive tries, three consecutive successful combos into sjc ultra, yet I could NOT get the trial exactly right.
That shit has to rank up there with one of the hardest trials. Even FFF xx EX Seismo xx sjc, hk.bk, ultra is WAAAY easier than that.
I’ve just finished all of Viper’s trials, except 24. Most of the combos didn’t have that many components, so they were easier than I thought they would be (except 22, which was a bit tricky). With 24 however, I’m completely stuck. It’s a 7-part combo, and it doesn’t matter which part of it I focus on, it all seems completely random when it succeeds. All the tips I’ve found by googling focus on a problem with getting a super in the middle of the combo, but I can’t even get far enough to see that problem.
I’ll start with what should be the easiest part:
EX Seismic Hammer ? High Jump ? Burning Kick
Should I be able to do this by inputting :df::d::df::2p::qcb::ub::hk: as fast as possible? I can sometimes get it by mashing, but it doesn’t work when I try to do it in a controlled way. Either nothing happens at all, or Viper high jumps backwards.
Are the inputs correct?
If I need to delay my inputs, where should the delay be inserted, and how big are the frame windows?
