Hey Guys i’m having trouble with Hard Trial 5…
Umm I’ve been watching some vids as well as reading and im noticing everyone is just doing the burn kick after ex seismo… does doing this register the high jump and burning kick…?
Or do i still have to high jump really quick into burning kick…?
Cause i can do everything else except connect the burn kick after the high jump…
It’s hella hard…

Super jump cancel burning kick. The motion cancels ex seismo recovery early with a super jump (d, ub) and lets you input the command for the subsequent burning kick (qcb) in one motion.

Normally you want to super jump then burn kick after a seismo, but in the trial you have to super jump cancel, then cancel the actual jump with the burn kick. So basically you just have to input it a little faster than normal so that you never actually jump.

On a sidenote, im thinking of picking up Viper as an alt since now i can FFF like nobodies business .
Just got to make it clear, you can’t link ultra off any of her normals without SJC’ing right?
My friend insists that he isn’t even though I have explained it to him that you never get the ultra, just the super if he really wasn’t SJC’ing.

Yeah you have to sjc. Tell your friend to go into training mode and turn on input display and do it. Anytime he gets an ultra there will be a :uf: input in there somewhere. If there’s not the ultra won’t combo.
I’m on Hard Trial #5 atm, I just tried doing FFF xx EX seismo for 2 hours and got it to work only a handful of times, clearly I’m doing something wrong. I’m doing the FFF part fairly consistenly, but I can’t seem to the seismo cancel (canceling to, say, a mp TK I do with 100% consistency).
Does anyone have any pointers and tips for the execution of the seismo cancel? I’m trying to keep the stick in a DF position after canceling the TK, then perform the c. HP and then do d, df + pp, but nothing comes out.
Does the stick have to go to neutral before hitting the first df?
I’m on a pad using the analog stick btw, so if anyone has anyone pad specific tips (other than get a stick) I’d love to hear them.

btw, hard trial #3 is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my 20 year history of gaming. I think I woke the neighbours when the combo went through
Go into training mode with input display on and you will see whatever it is you are doing wrong. My guess is that you are hitting PP while still in the down position before you actually get back to DF because you feel you need to go super fast. I could be wrong, but if I don’t get a seismo it’s almost always because I hit the punch buttons too early.
Mmmm what I do is crouching fierce, fierce feint, then hold down forward and hit with the second crouching fierce, then go down back then downforward + PP for the seismo (aka using the shortcut) which is the same as what you’re doing and when I don’t get it out, it means that initially I was holding down instead of downforward so I would try this out:
crouching fierce, fierce feint, hit forward, down + fierce punch, downforward + PP (as in do the dragon punch motion but instead of fdf+PP do f, d+P, df+PP
im nearly done completing ex-seismo, high jump to burning kick!
the only problem is that when i get to the burning kick part my viper always seems to do a kick in the air, disrupting the combo, right before she does a burning kick
any way to mend this?
You’re probably doing an awkward motion like this:
Instead of QCB+K you might be doing Down, downback+kick, Back+negative edge kick. when you let go of a button when doing a special, it counts as part of the move (for example hold down a kick button and do a QCB motion and let go of kick and you’ll notice that you still do a burning kick).
Best way I can think of to mend this is either make your motion more fluid, or just let the stick go to neutral really quick before you hit the kick button.
I’m almost done with ex seismo - hj - bk, only problem is that the burning kick comes out too late. is there any input shortcuts i should be employing or something like that? does it matter what burning kick i use etc. etc.?

You can just do d, db, b, uf + K after the Seismo. Just work on timing and you’ll be fine.
