To do hard trial 3, practice the lp super jump ultra on its own first. Because of the games shortcuts, all you need to do is :d::df:+:lp::qcf::uf::3p:. The extra :r: motion isn’t needed.
And I did all of Viper’s trials on a pad so yeah it’s def possible. I can’t use a stick anyways.
There is no straightforward answer. Like he said, everyone is different and some pick it up faster than others. I’ve seen people transition to sticks in less than a week after never having stepped into an arcade, others I’ve seen take months to get comfortable. Part of the answer may be natural ability, the other part is just hard work and effort. How much you have of either of those will determine how long it will take you to learn.
I feel like you’re just saying that because you don’t use/have one.
How about this (and I’ll let everyone get back on topic): Can anyone honestly say that they’ve owned a fight stick and a ps3 controller and say that the Fight Stick is no better that the d-pad?
Why is it so wrong for one to prefer a pad? I happen to be extremely nimble so I actually prefer pad…why can’t we just let players use whatever that want to use
I found a way to get hard trial three out. If you can execute the lp into ultra by itself you can do the whole combo. i could do this too. so i just learned the speed required for the jumping heavy kick, standing light kick, and crouching light punch.
then… jump in the air, press heavy kick (and STOP looking at the screen), press standing light kick (which you just learned the timing of) and then do crouching light punch into ultra (which you can already do).
the point is that if you can do the light punch into ultra, you can do the whole combo just by jumping and pressing heavy kick and light kick beforehand. eventually you’ll get the appropriate timing for links or whatever just by sheer chance. but you won’t get ‘nervous hands’ when it does happen, because you’re not looking at the screen.
I didn’t mean it that way, sorry if I offended anyone. I also use a pad and have completed everyone’s trials except Viper’s and Abel’s. I just felt like his comment was made in spite of Fight Stick users, so I’m searching for someone who has used both.
well i can do all of it except for the super like 50% of the time, and i can do that part you just posted like 10% of the time, but i cant seem to put them together.
I finally just finished it after reviewing the old youtube video, and that was the motion I used to get it to go off. There was none of this “super fast” input business involved.
It’s all in getting the lp to link from the lk. Too fast and it will cancel, resulting in no high jump. Also, you can’t do the directions all in one motion. You have to do the qcf, stop, then do the qcf>fu.
By stopping, I mean you can’t be holding any directions at all. It’s a split second neutral position.
Practice timing your c.lp. That’s really the only trick to it. The rest is cake.
Every hit pretty much goes at the exact same pace. Watch the youtube video for an idea of how steady it needs to be done.
I’m getting it to go off at about a 60% rate now. It’s really not so brutal once you get the timing down.
Luck shmuck… lol.
You’ll be sitting there forever trying to do the qcf+fu motion first. It leaves too small a window to do the ultra, and you WILL need crack speed and an assload of sheer luck to pull it off that way.
Which youtube video? Any video that shows a completed trial or a specific one? I remember some guy claimed to post a video here showing his hands when he performes the trials, but I can’t find it. If it’s a specific one can you post or direct me to the link?
YES! did hard trial one…now im working on trial two which feels a tad easier. i just got to connect these two hits, and adding the focus attack should be cake. i can do it, but he always seems to block my ultra. im doing down, press hp, qcb, release hp, ppp, qcf, qcf, ppp (although in reality im spamming ppp).
any one have a sneaky way to make this one easier?
I need help with her 4th hard trial.
I can do the whole combo and i actually use it online (only instead of the last TK i do ultra). However it wont register my heavy burning kick after my high jump. It actually hits but it doesnt register (the high jump does). My buttons are assigned correctly and i have no clue what the game wants from me.
Im doing (the last part):
Buffer in the super during the thunder knuckle cancel. Instead of doing qcf, qcf + PPP (cuz that takes too long to do) just do qcf+PP to cancel and then one more qcf+PPP to buffer in Ultra.
You’re not doing a grounded super jump burn kick. You basically have to do a super jump burn kick without leaving the air. To do that I believe the motion is d,db,b,ub,u,uf+K. This allows you to do a grounded burning kick even though you normally have to super jump in the air after EX seismo to move once you execute it. This makes it easier to combo into Ultra when you have the opponent near the corner. Higher level players usually just do super jump cancelled MP thunder knuckle and then Ultra.
At high levels of play that’s one of Viper’s most useful combos. You better find a way to make use of it if you wanna get good with her.
