I got a couple of these against a Honda tonight after reading, nice tool. I still lost a very close match… Stupid ass random ultra caught me just as I was about to seismo, and no it wasn’t a good bit of timing on his part(seeing the flash or something like that), because the animation hadn’t even started when he did it, it was just going to start when he unleashed it…
on the same boat. having trouble with blanka , can’t figure out a way to hit after the ball. bastard! haha

Lp TK from a distance will also beat out headbutt’s cause its to low for boxer to hit. In general I love lp tk versus him all day.
Yeah, I found that in training mode because I lost to a turtling Balrog. I went in and recorded a bit to see if I could actually counter the Dash Straight . If you time it right, SP.TK will stuff it. If you time it right, JP.TK will go under and punish the forced whiff.

if you block blankas ball while standing you can do fierce seismo and it always hits into SJC flame kick, also if you have ultra or super stacked you can punish him very hard.
I find myself turtling alot when playing these 2
i just fought a blanka w/ turbo on, and all he ready did was jump in and do a 3 hit w/ eletricity @ the end… and whenever i jumped in, electricity was on on my way down! i feel like such a nub losing to these peeps but i play 1 like every 30 matches x_X
and with bison, all they do is just jump in and play footsies into scissor kick and that MK is freaking annoying, i usually lose to all bisons i play just because when i go defensive i shut down and they throw me like 500 times lol. The bison i fought lastnight threw me about 3-4 times per match, and i wasnt even playing that defensively… ill learn one of these days.+
edit and if you fight a classic online blanka that just keeps balling in at you, just EX seismo him on his way back down after he hits you, then try to link a BK, magnetomaniac told me this and it works great! only problem in the one i fought he did not ball ONCE, so i didnt even know what to do lol
^ Ill add you. I love viper mirrors also. Probably gonna get a 3 bar connection at best but it shouldnt be too bad.
Did anyone find a use for EX thunder knucke for anything other than punishment situations. Its obviously very unsafe otherwise, but I want my viper style to be different, did anyone find anything?

EX thunders only use to me is if I sense an Akuma going for a jump back fp fireball, I’l take the risk to run into a mp/lp one, if my reward is 50%+
once blanka stops from balling at you, as viper you need to turn aggressive and go for the c. wk–> to wbk, or mbk combo works liek a charm. , i have trouble most of the time with blanka except when they dont ball at you. just be agressive and use your lp tk and bk too.!
How do I play this broad? Rushdown, runaway, counterpunch?
Up to you, really. I play her on a little bit of a Yang mode. Mainly punishing whiffed attacks and causing whiffs. Now, she can work rushdown, I just suck at rushdown so I’ve never tried it myself.
And if you mean counterpunch like beating stuff out, DON’T DO IT. Her priority on a lot of moves sucks and her startups are massive for a lot of her normals. HOWEVER, if you mean counterpunch like punishing stuff, that’s EXACTLY where you want to be.
Just watchout for E.Honda and if you find anything as far as beating him, let us know.
Speaking of Honda, I’m not sure if anyone has noticed this, but her standing jab beats Jab Headbutt clean (at least it did for me a few times), but I’m not sure if this is something that is widely known or something that’s too inconsistent to really capitalize on.
I still can’t find much use for EX TK other than chasing people down after I go over them like chasing Bison’s Psycho Chrusher as it goes through or a Hurricane kick that goes over. I’m still looking for uses of it as well.

Another quick thing about Viper vs Honda… Her super can connect after a blocked Headbutt but it can only be the LP version of the super. If you do the supers independently (236,236+LP/236,236+MP/236,236+FP) you’ll see that the timing seems different when all the 3 hits land. That’s because the timing is different.
Super with LP = The 1st punch reaches out far and the other two attacks are slow after each other. But all 3 will hit someone on the ground when both are on the ground. But against someone in the air, odds are the 3 hits will never connect. Probably just one of the 3, 2 if you’re really lucky.
Super with FP = The 3 attacks are one after the other like a chain/link. This is the one that connects the best against someone in the air as usually the 1st and 2nd or the 1st and 3rd will connect often. Sometimes you’ll get all 3 but it’s a timing thing. The other thing about this super is that the 1st hit DOES NOT reach out like it does if you used LP. So if you blocked a headbutt by Honda and did a reversal super with FP, it won’t connect as the 1st hit will whiff and the subsequent attacks will be blocked.
Super with MP = Uhhhhh… IDK. I need to do more testing. :lol:
All 3 supers do the same damage when all 3 hits connect (300).
Guys, I need me some nice, hard-to-punish, harassment specials. What do you recommend? How safe is thunder knuckle on block? etc. I don’t want to sit around waiting for mistakes, but I don’t want to get raped on rushdown either.
Both LP and MP TK are safe on block but are relatively easy to interrupt. Don’t use them while under rushdown pressure.
Now, HP TK is not safe on block but is a relatively decent reversal to use to get the opponent off if they slip up when pressuring you. Granted, it’s not a DP by any means but it gets the job done well enough. Again, this move is not safe on block so don’t spam it like those flowchart Kens spam SHORYUKEN.
Sweet. So would you recommend harassing turtles with this? I’m sorta worried about getting SRKed out of it, but the startup seems pretty quick I guess.
Also, what overheads does she have?

I only use it for two things.
- to close distance, but only very sparingly, as a mindgame when they jump expecting a Seismic Hammer.
- chip damage kill. I knock a motherfucker down, they technical getup, I rush in with EX Thunder Knuckle. K.O.!!!
